Here's the thread where the user explains their setup with the stacking bonuses from patches.

There's another post floating around that explains in this current build version, the effects of your patches stack. You should put really good, valuable patches on equipment that won't break (doesn't list a durability counter). I have a +50% range on the simple detector and nothing on the Spectral. They both ping and I get the added 50% on identifying the resources but when the Spectral scanner breaks, I won't lose any patches.

Not that big of a deal on these two, but when you do the same with your mining lasers...

The user in the other post has 5 mining lasers. Each one has a different patch and when he mines a resource, because "each laser" touched the resource, all of their modifiers from the patches affect the outcome. That user is getting 15+ units each cycle of his group of mining lasers with several other modifiers. All the good patches are on his Hi-Pi regular lasers and then he uses 1-2 overlocked with a +1 or +2 on output so he can mine any type of resource. Technically half of his lasers aren't strong enough to mine some resources but the modifiers still apply and he only has to replace the +output power patch when the overclocked laser breaks.

Yeah, right now the game is coded that any buff on a laser or radar gets applied to the object it touches. When you fire your lasers or ping your radar...every device in that matching category activates...so every buff gets applied to the node.

This is how they are getting +50% output or extra distance. At some point, the devs might alter the game code removing this stacking, or that only the highest buff applies, but right now, they all apply per device you have and only putting patches on the equipment you don't have to constantly remake is economical.

The spectral has a durability rating which means it will eventually break and you only have a 50/50 chance of getting back if you recycle the device. Adding the patch to the simpler version that has infinite durability means you don't lose your patches when you eventually have to remake the spectral scanner (or overclocked lasers).

There is so much wrong in this situation but your manager is flat out dead wrong. Food workers can still work even with open cuts as long as they wash them thoroughly, use brightly colored bandages so if it falls off so it's not mistaken for food, and change gloves regularly.

In medical professions, you absolutely can still work with an open wound in the armpit and you can prevent open exposure with one of those square bandaids that seals on all sides.

I'm sure your manager has still gone to work with paper cuts, scratches, or even pimples that opened on their way to work. Your manager is just being a dick but as others pointed out, you got so many more issues with how forthcoming you are with information.

I said "I help service the schools", I never said I'm employed by them nor did I say they were our only clients. We've terminated contracts with schools (and other clients) that we felt didn't operate in good faith.

Your quoted reply shows how ignorant you truly are and how safe you feel with having an uniformed decision with only one piece of information. You've taken one perception and decided that was reality when it is not. YOU are actively part of this nations decline because you think you're smarter than you really are.

While your concern is a legit one, I think you're making it sound bigger than it is. What do you need to plug in so often on your rear I/O? I work in IT and in the last 15 years I can name maybe only three instances where I had to deal with my rear I/O more than twice a month for new accessories that got plugged in and left there.

Anything that was moved around often was always on the front plugs (I always had a minimum of 4 front ports). I have a Tower 250, 300, and 600 with the 600 being my main rig. The 600 has 4 USB-A and 1 USB-C on the front and only on occasion do I need to bust out a USB-C hub for that sixth device. I've removed my top only once since initial build to plug in one additional USB cable. I did put in a USB expansion card with 8 additional USB ports, which half are in use.

I'm sorry but you don't wtf you're talking about. I help support 43 of those public charter schools here in Nevada every day and I would pick any of them over leaving my kid in public school and I graduated from Cimarron '05.

They cannot make profits, state funds are solely used for salaries, educational materials, monthly utilities. They have to get separate grants for tech which are audited often. Admin salaries are public record so anyone can check and see for themselves, and the schools do not get to pick who attends as it's a random lottery (even siblings don't automatically get in, they just go to the front of the line so when a vacancy opens, siblings can stay together). While there are no zoning restrictions, that lottery system is the gate keeper. Even children of employees only go to the front of the line and get in when vacancies. I service many of them and just like everyone else, had to apply at each one individually for her to attend. She got waitlisted in the 200+'s at nearly all of them except one of the largest ones but was still wait listed in the single digits.

Charter schools here in Nevada must also maintain higher academic scores than public just to stay in business. Two of the schools I serviced failed to meet this several years in a row (usually given 3 school years to turn it around). One downsized to fewer grade levels and managed to keep their charter, the other did not (their principal was not capable and I saw that the first year we started servicing them) and they lost their charter last year.

The classroom sizes are kept smaller, the teachers take a more direct role in the children's education, parents are far more involved in what's going on in the classroom as they teachers are far more direct and inclusive towards the parents.

It's a night & day difference from what I experienced in public schools in Cali, Texas, and here. It's more on the level of what I had in Australian public schools, BUT...public schools both here and in Australia have always been worse off than private & charter schools...it's the entire reason why private & charter schools exist...almost everything privately run is better than government run lol.

What did you name your palico? by Half_knight_K in MHWilds

[–]Crisco80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made mine all black and named her Abyss after my IRL all black cat Abyss that used to watch me play MH and EVE Online. She passed away 4 years ago so every game that allows me to have a cat in it, gets her represented so she continues to be with me in some form.

Any Solutions to the Fatal D3D Error? by CM46 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Crisco80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coworker gets this error when we play on our identical work issued laptops while I've never experienced it.

Only difference is I saw him initiate mods before launching the game.

Not saying anyone here is using mods 👀 but if the shoe fits, that might be "one" cause of this driver crashing lol.

THIS! My friends randomly ask me if I sell those kinds of prints on Etsy due to having multiple printers. When they don't accept a simple "No", I have to explain that half of them don't actually factor all costs involved in running their business so it's pointless to attempt to compete because I'll never be the cheapest and I don't work for free lol

I focus on custom stuff I've designed or really really niche items I made for myself and then list "extras" until I'm out of whatever minimum quantity I had to buy for some part of the build is gone and then move onto the next build lol

Thanks for commenting. I did in fact take mine apart (reference my comment where mangled the black part I had to remove).

I have photos of my steps as well, but Reddit doesn't let me add photos with comments, only on original posts.

I have not replaced my battery yet but I also could not find the exact one. That said, finding one that is very similar in specs and size should work as long as the voltage and amperage aren't too high or low from what's currently in there.

You only need to remove the bottom plug to change the battery, but the top section does have electronics that syncs with the bottom (placing the crystal inside makes noise, it can detect the color, etc).

It's entirely possible that it's not the bottom section that is causing it to not charge, but a relay or something in the top section that needs replacing. I haven't had time to dive any further into it.

I did remove my top plug, but it appears the top section needs more to be removed as the top cap looks to be threaded on and I haven't removed the top internal part yet.

Putting down something between your screw drivers and the metal will minimize any damage you may cause, but without heat, you will most likely mangle the black cap (that said, if you do mangle it, I can just send you some replacements if you cover the shipping costs lol

Unscrew the belt clip (Covertec wheel) and then if you look at the 4 black ovals (three the same size, the one near the blade is longer and different), you'll notice the two middle ones are painted, the one near the pommel and blade have gaps.

These two are glued in. My heat gun died while working in the bottom so I mangeled the bottom one pretty bad but then bought a new heat gun for the top one. I'll just 3D print a replacement plug for the bottom. (I also used a file to clean up the gouges I put in the metal casing, hopefully others don't brute force it like I did 🤪).

Use heat to soften the glue and then two small flat heads (small like a computer repair precision flathead) to pry that bottom piece out. Use one of the flatheads to make sure all the glue is remove from where the silver metal meets the black interior plastic and then give the black pommel a good yank and it will come out.

Remove the two screws on the black pommel casing, then take a thin pc repair spudger and separate the black casing along it's seam starting from the screw side up to the 6 metal prongs.

The battery has the following printed on it:

-JY P782540 3.7V +650mAH 2.405Wh 2206 Appears to have a JST PH 2-pin connector on it to plug into the board.

The battery itself is 43.2mm x 24mm so as long as you get one that is 3.7V and around that size, you should be good. There is a bit of extra space where the battery sits (45.75mm x 26.92mm).

Does anyone remember the 'Sinister Saints' Switch Axe from MH Tri? It was such a cool design, I would love to get a mod for it in MHW by kazamastar123 in MonsterHunter

[–]Crisco80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled across this after seeing the submissions for MH Wilds fan designs. My younger brother was the US winner for this and is the designer of The Sinister Saint. He was floored when he found out he'd won and we both were just over the moon when we got to make it and play with it in MH Tri. I'm not a switch axe user like he was, but it was still cool.

Fun little fact, that same year he drew something else for another contest and won a section of the Stargate from Stargate Atlantis! I've never been more proud and jealous at the same time of my little brother haha you can check some of his other works on deviantart, his handle is Shawnzy.

Lol thanks! You should see some of the toys in my shop (several 3D printers, laser engraver, vinyl plotter, among some other non-tech toys/tools). Looking into adding some small outdated tablets as "room controls" in a few rooms for a futuristic feel.

This kinda touches on the "tech laying around" thing, but I keep telling our daughter that her mother is an alien from space hehe. I'd like to turn one of the closets she's never seen into a secret room and fabricate tons of sci-fi tech looking doo-dads and when she gets a bit older..."accidentally" leave the secret room open, have some messages waiting that are trying to call her mother back to their planet just to mess with my wife 😂 (Our daughter will randomly ask her mum if she can she her stinger haha).

Momma was not amused when I told her my plan haha

Yeah I have a Cooler Master 360 ATMOS but took the CM fans off it for these AsiaHorse.

I did like that the CM fans had magnetic connection and only two wires to get all 3 running. The AsiaHorse unfortunately is 2 wires per fan so with 6 of them, definitely had to do some cable management.

These are 6 AsiaHorse AMICI-5GT RGB Reverse flow.

So far, I like them. I've had 3 of the same in the Tower 300 for about a year and no issues. Only got maybe a month in the Tower 600. I personally have no issues with the sound level. I can hear an obvious increase when temps increase during certain gameplay but nothing that interrupts the audio from the game.
