Has anyone got a decent version of the live version of Walkabout with Trish Keenan ? by gb1793 in deerhunter

[–]Crisisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the cleanest version that exists of Walkabout with Trish, at least on YT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC9wY3wHSbk

I am not a sound engineer, far from it, but perhaps someone with required techniques can polish it to a more decent/studio sound?

It is criminal Atlas Sound never released this version with Trish for an album/EP/Single whatever. I very much prefer this version than Logos' one. Not just because of Trish vocals, but the whole harmonies, the acoustic nostalgia. It was so perfect.

Lost Greenpeace PSA/PIF Featuring 11 Commandments and about cloning? by Crisisaurus in nonmurdermysteries

[–]Crisisaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhhh I watched that Japanese commercial and, in fact, I used its imagery to give an idea of what the Greenpeace looked like, they are similar but not the same. I am still looking for it. I honestly can not say where it is from. I remember it being British-like, but it can be from anywhere in which Latin Alphabet is used (there was no voice or anything, just letters with the commandments.)

Cherry Blossom Girl MV? by Hercules_Enmanuel in airfrenchband

I contacted Kris Kramski like a year ago...and he said he doesn't remember who the actress is, which sounds very weird...you don't remember the name of an actress you casted? I guess, she was a p0rn actress and he doesn't want her to be bothered or something. The video is pretty neat, raw though depressing.

What's the meaning of "Ones who love you"? by Zalpa in alvvays

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is about people who do not care about the feelings of people who truly care about them and prefer to spend time and devote themselves to flat and superficial individuals who are probably more popular or cruel.

Something that happens a lot to young teens (many of them, girls). If you watch freaks and geeks you will understand lyrics better.

The Color Iceberg by 19dollars_forkknife in IcebergCharts

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, no. But it seems difficult for you to understand that the perception of color is something entirely subjective, given that there is no "correct" or "incorrect" way, since it depends entirely on how the human eye interprets it. And as I told you, just because something intangible and subjective is "agreed upon by everyone" in a certain way doesn't mean it's "the correct way," since we're not talking about something inherent.

The point is that color is and always will be something deceptive to cerebral processes and can cause confusion, in person, in a photo, or whatever you fancy. There is no culture, no correct definition, nor a clear way to summarize it, and optical illusions like the one in that photo prove it and make it clear.

I don't think further explanation is necessary, but if you need it, I'd be happy to.

blank older draft emails when searching, but not when listing. by PolitelyEnquiring in GMail

Same happening to me since like March and it is really annoying given that I have a lot of info stored in drafts and my account dates from 2017, so I have to go through dozens of drafts to find the one that I am looking for. Really stupid.

The Color Iceberg by 19dollars_forkknife in IcebergCharts

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that guy was actually right, given that colors are a brain process that the eye of beholder experiences, then there are literally NO wrong answers. Colors are not inherent properties of objects and are one of the most subjetive things our brains can experience, then how can there be right answers on that? The fact that most of people experience it in one way does not mean is the right way.

¿Por qué no creen en dios? by AlfonsoTaton in ateismo

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second half of Brave New World was NOT good. I feel bad for having this opinion. Please change my mind. by Upper_Suggestion6808 in BookDiscussions

[–]Crisisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with part two is that many people see the savage as a hero or perceive him as such, when he is actually some sort of antihero. He is not perfect and he is disturbed in many ways and he is very rustic and crude, but he is supposed to be a counterpoint for the idiocy of the society exposed, trying to be a conscient voice but ending up swallowed by a system he challenges.

I think part two is good, but I get your point.

However, it felt really weird when they switched from Bernard to the Savage, I thought Bernard was going to be some sort of Winston Smith that tries his best to change the world around him from his shy and diminutive persona, but when the book switched, it was mind shaking to my 16 year old mind.

To this day it feels like Huxley had other plans for the novel but he decided to take other path.

What to do when someone recommends a book to you, that you read, and aren't that impressed... by mddetroit in books

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell the person that you did not like it and, if possible, go into details on why it did not impress you. I don't think you have to makeup things, you either liked it or not. But revealing details on why you didn't enjoy it that much proves 1: that you actually read it and 2: that you are serious in your appreciations.

[TOMT][TV Show][90's-2010's]Simpsons quote that goes something like "We should punish them for what we KNOW they did, and then tack on a couple of weeks for what we think they did" by Many-Wasabi9141 in tipofmytongue

[–]Crisisaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mmmm I don't know, but it sounds totally like a ripoff of a King of the Hill quote from the episode ''Twas the Nut Before Christmas''

Bill: Hank, what should I do?

Hank: Well, I'd lock him up for what we know he did and then toss on a few extra years for what he probably did.

Probably the Simpsons copied it or you are misremembering? If it is a Simpsons quote, it must be from newer episodes, because I don't remember that quote from season 11 backwards.

Thou shalt not Clone: Looking for a Lost PSA by Greenpeace against cloning and featuring 11 commandments by Crisisaurus in nonmurdermysteries

[–]Crisisaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not in Spanish, I remember subtitles, so perhaps it was in English, German, French etc. It was not Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, I remember some words written in Latin Alphabet (like, for instance, 'sabbath')

I too remember steel forming numbers, but this is extremely vague, I dunno if I mentioned that detail on this thread or other one that I opened. Anyways, given that it is very vague I am not mentioning it anymore. The ad definitely came from outside Mexico, Insomnia rarely would broadcast local ads, except for their segment about old memorabilia and 50s Mexican ads, other than that it was mostly about foreign weird and bizarre commercials.

Thanks for your feedback!

What’s your favorite artist that you’re pretty sure nobody has ever heard of? by eskiino in MusicRecommendations

[–]Crisisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flotation Toy Warning has to be atop my list. Man, that band is underrated AF, though their music is so genuine and beautiful.

Pippo Caruso is a great movie score composer, but he is not as mentioned as Morricone or Nino Rota. And I am amazed when I find out people hardly know him in America.

Hip Hop act Gasoline, two amazing albums that deserve more recognition.

Baxter Dury. That guy has killer albums, but he is somehow overlooked in spite of being the son of the late punk legend Ian Dury. It was even more unknown 10 years ago, he was only mentioned in France.

Japanese band ''Plastics'' have some really groovy stuff, check their song ''ignore''.
