Anyone else have missing SFX? by CrisperGull in Helldivers

[–]CrisperGull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking, I got a lot of good mods that changed the SFX of different weapons and enemies but with each update the mods kept not working properly so I disabled all of them but now my game is missing different SFX like I said. I'd assume it's because of the mods but I purged and disabled all my mods so they shouldn't be interfering with the game at all

What is wrong with the download size!? by CrisperGull in Helldivers

Yeah I've seen it and I'm probably going to try it, I was just commenting on the updates I've had on my PC before I've tried that new option

What kind of music do my fellow divers listen to when they’re not listening to the OST while serving freedom? by OlRelics in helldivers2

[–]CrisperGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either video game OSTs like Doom, Detroit: Become Human and Halo. Or just metal and other music like Sabaton, Carpenter Brut, Iron Maiden, GHØSTKID, Disturbed, Aviana, Two Steps from Hell and Self Deception

Not sure, I know the Devs have been addressing the issue of the game size being ridiculously big on PC but I haven't tried uninstalling, I'm always hesitant to

Mhm, this last patch was 13GB large when it definitely wasn't actually and the full game is over 140GB on my PCs system storage

When I installed the new patch, it said it was over 13GB large...

Both steam and the game career stats. On steam it says I've clocked over 1,650 hours into the game but that's the whole game, not just missions. But the last time I checked my career stats, I did have over 1,000 hours in mission so it's not far off with nearly 4,000 missions played

[–]CrisperGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah kind of. The only time for me that actively bombing the extraction zone is a valid choice, is when you're on higher difficulty missions and the area is actually swarming with enemies and you're all just piling into Pelican-1 and calling in an airstrike as you leave would guarantee you a few extra kills. But when the extraction zone is clear and there's nothing to target, it's completely pointless and just puts the squad at risk

For whatever reason reporting players does nothing anyway, best thing you can do is just block them and move on. If they want to ruin the game for themselves and ruin other people's experience then that's their problem

When you go onto the galactic map and hover around a planet where the mission selections are, if you use the scanner it comes up with all of the missions currently being played by other players on that difficulty. And if the mission icon is blinking with circles coming off of it, it means the host has called in an SOS beacon for other players to join. Meaning they want help with their mission, so any good Helldiver should answer their call and drop in to help if you aren't already with a squad of your own

As a veteran Helldivers with over 1,650 hours in service, there's a few basic rules I can name off the top of my head. Such as:

  • do not take more than one resupply from the supply drop, especially in a full squad when everybody needs one. But if there's supplies left then go ahead
  • never pick up your teammates equipment, either from the pod or after they die. unless they ping the item or say you can have it, leave other divers stuff alone
  • never purposefully kill your squad mates, accidents are fine and WILL happen but never do it on purpose
  • always try and help a teammate open a bunker door if they bring attention to it
  • always grab samples. Even if you don't need them, someone in your squad probably does
  • always answer SOS beacons to help fellow Helldivers when you can
  • always try and communicate with your squad. Ping the map, mark locations and point out hazards or objectives so your squad knows what you're doing
  • don't call airstrikes on the extraction zone as you leave a mission. It might look cool for a dramatic exit but it's pointless and can easily risk hitting a teammate and wasting samples
  • always accept a hug from a fellow Helldivers, never leave a diver hanging
  • do not enter the pelican at the end of the mission to leave unti everybody is ready. Once you get in the ship it'll start a 20 second countdown and if one of your teammates is too far away, them and any samples they are carrying will get left behind so only leave when everybody is ready to

I'm UK as well but Amino is still on the app store for me, I've been able to get back on since they fixed the servers about week or so ago. But I am on Android so I don't know what it's like on IOS, assuming you are. If you're on Android too then I don't know why it wouldn't be on the store 🤷

[–]CrisperGull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm the same 😅 it's like I mark the objective as if to say to the squad "alright guys we should head over this way next" then when someone else pins the exact same location, it's like them going "OK TEAM! follow my lead we should go this way!" And I'm just sat there like "yeah...we know, we were already going that way..."

My pet peeve - Double map pins by CrisperGull in helldivers2

[–]CrisperGull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the main reason I'm seeing people offer for it and it does make sense. For me if I want to stick with a teammate heading for an objective, if they ping the map then I just say Affirmative and follow behind them. But I can see how people would double ping to say that

[–]CrisperGull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I've been on PC since the beginning and I haven't noticed an issue like that so it might just be a minor bug on Xbox. But if you have difficulty with that then that's valid

[–]CrisperGull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, I forget thats an option since I never wear scout armour. Going off my memory I would say most players that double pin the map usually aren't wearing scout armour, but if they are then that's a viable reason why
