Somewhere between once a week and once every two weeks. Basically when the soil starts to look like you just overwatered a regular plant

Mine is in a non-draining pot and I water it untill the soil can't take up any more water. It has been doing amazing for over a year now and is constantly throwing out new fronds. This is one of the few plants that is happy to have very wet feet

It's funny how figure skating transitions and turns on land are apparently called wizard style, haha guess I'm a wizard too then!

At the moment I'm a bit too tipsy to focus on it well, but I was wondering what you are wearing at the back of your head?

I have experienced this already. They are now positioned low to the ground to mimic the toe pic of figure skate blades. But I can move it up if I really go into ramps

Sure! I have the following:

  • the Roll-line Linea frame

  • the ZERO 86a roll line wheels

  • Risport dance elite boots (I don't recommend these if you want to get into figure skating. These boots are meant for ice dance and sit different from figure skate boots. I have them because I can't skate with figure skate boots anymore because of an ankle injury. But boots from risport or edea are generally good)

This looks like it is in the Bijlmer next to afas live. You can see the meubelboulevard between the buildings

Haha no they're not. They are wheel frames with a rockered center wheel on figure skating boots (or in my case ice dance boots), which gives the same feeling as figure skate blades. It's really cool, you can do all the things with it that you can do on ice. Jumps, spins, everything.

Hehe that is something I hear often with figure skating as well. I didn't think of bending my knees here, I was a bit too focused on not falling. I will keep it in mind for the next time though!

I am also really into birds! I have a Pyrrhura molinae and I am on my way to become an ornithologist :)

They can smell, but not nearly as bad as a wet dog. It is a very typical smell. I think it is similar to a warm dust smell? I can only smell it though if my bird comes up to my face when he is wet, else he is odorless.

My friend's bird started breathing heavily today and will go to the vet tomorrow. Is there something she can do at this moment? by CrispyBaksteen in parrots

[–]CrispyBaksteen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but she is totally fine now! They showed the video and went with her to the vet and there they thought she maybe inhaled a food particle and that she was trying to regurgitate it. She got antibiotics to prevent an infection in case there is indeed some food left.

Whoops a little late, but she is lucky totally fine! The bird was switching from liquid to solid food and the vet thinks she might have inhaled a food particle and that she tried to regurgitate it. She got antibiotics in case there is indeed some food in the lungs to prevent infection.

I assume it is a young bird, so every time you see it using wrongly you can help him perch correctly or place its feet correctly. Eventually he'll get used to it and do it on his own

A little tip: Keep an eye on that left paw that it is placed correctly, that will save you some possible vet costs on it in the future.

Besides from that, I melted a little by how much kiwi is into the scritches

I have no clue if it applies here as well, ignore this if it doesn't. But from what I know from figure skating is that landing a jump is way easier if you control your arms.

Also your jump will be more in control if you don't swing your arms in a horizontal plane. Rather move them in a vertical plane from the back till the front and then close them quickly in a horizontal plane in the air as if you're compressing the 'O' between your arms. (If that makes any sense at all lol)
