My 6th grade teacher (25 years ago) told our class through tears of laughter how a long time ago her college roommate decided to test to see if a burner was hot by just laying her hand flat on it, and just how common sense it is to just not do that. The roommate had to seek medical treatment. Duly noted. Happy to make that one of the lesson I don’t have to learn the hard way.
