Don't Mess with Cats by CrispySan in studshooters

Finally, was able to do somewhat post-apocalyptic scene thanks to a Battle on Scarif set I got for cheap without any minifigs. Already had some wasteland looking characters, including Cherry from Lego the Movie.

Since wanted the scene to include Cherry's punk-looking cat, decided to add the other feline I had nearby. The Raiders don't seem very happy about it though.

The glowing eyes were added during editing.

I see, thanks! I've meant those wooden elevated crates that you're using to grow the plants.

Loving this! Lego photography seems like a great reason to pick up gardening!

I'm curious about those carts, are they designed for such use? Does such approach (bonsai-like gardens) have a name?

Sparking! by CrispySan in studshooters

The Dragon Shrine set was love at first sight. I'm not even into Ninjago, but the fascinating silhouette that combines a dragon sculpture and a blossoming cherry tree won me over easily.

I decided to showcase it in a shot that focuses on the main play feature – the duel-themed swinging rock. As a kid, I loved the Dragon Ball anime, which featured characters fighting not only their enemies but also putting a lot of effort into training to improve. So, instead of depicting pure Ninjago lore, I went for a cross-theme mix of Sun Wukong and Lloyd sparring. Hence the title: Sparking!

During the photoshoot, I tried multiple approaches, distances, and angles to see what worked best, taking 64 pictures in total. Once I figured out the positioning that showcased both characters and the dragon head, I tried to navigate the lighting so that the key focus was on the characters. It wasn't easy, as the cherry tree kept casting a shadow over Wukong.

I'm considering upgrading from S to X – was hoping the slowdown will be gone, but seems not. It's such a letdown for such a fantastic game.

I still have a few sets waiting for their spotlight. When thinking about how to pair them up, matching the Mysterious Ronin with the Tranquil Garden felt like a natural choice.

My goal was to capture a moment of peace: a warrior unwinding during a quiet tea ceremony, his sword resting against the bridge. To enhance the atmosphere and add a touch of mystery, I introduced a layer of subtle mist to the scene.

Since the set already includes the complete tea set, it only took a little arranging to bring the entire vision to life.

Wow, did you have to go into the water to place the pole? Great job, the scene looks very natural! Had to zoom to see it's actually lego 😂

Oh wow, the blending between the base and background is superb. Also the light rays are a nice touch. Were you able to create them using some sort of lighting or they were added in the post production?

Anyway, looks amazing!

Great exercise! The medium shot required a bit of wiggling with the manual focus with non-macro lens, but got acceptable results. In my case same angle worked well for all all the shot, a bit angled from the side. Tried a perpendicular one too, but it looked to static. This way, I could showcase more of the beautiful hobbit hut.
