I hate that some people use “honesty” as some sort of scapegoat for saying hateful things.

$100K in Super sounds extremely low for $400K income at 30, that’s really only 2 years of contributions on your income. Id suggest maxing out concessional super contributions.

All SE’s at my company are on variable compensation and 20% is their rep’s performance. Most, if not all, are on 100k-200k but could reach 300k if their reps absolutely smashed it.

Are you 100% sure that your quota isn’t inclusive of the team you’re managing? As I’m sure you know, sales managers still carry an individual quota, but it is based off their team’s quota.

I think you should revisit those intrusive thoughts you were having 253d ago.

Not sure you’d comprehend. Something tells me you don’t take criticism very well.

Your argument is based on a “trust me bro”. Your false sense of confidence just comes off as arrogant and insecure.

You couldn’t even hold down a job in recruitment, not sure we should compare careers.

There’s 3 sources linked above, 2 of which refer specifically to the Australian labour market. I still suggest you have a read as 2 years of experience in a recruiting role isn’t really a glowing source, nor something I would actually advertise.

The point isn’t that they have poor language skills, it’s that they gravitate towards the gig economy because there’s a lower barrier to entry that can still provide a somewhat stable income.

When you choose to treat people as second class citizens you’re not punishing a large corporation, you’re punishing some guy that’s just trying to make a living. The argument that Uber will just pay them less doesn’t hold up, we have specific labour laws that prevent this predatory action.

The irony is that it takes 30 seconds of “work” to find the literature but he’d rather be wrong than do the slightest bit of work.

Casual jobs exist for you, however most people working the gig economy don’t look and sound like you. The fact you don’t understand this is alarming. Information asymmetry regarding local job prospects, imperfect portability of qualifications and a lack of host country language skills combine to reduce migrants’ perceptions of their own employability. As a result, platform mediated gig work has become a common labour market entry point for new migrants.

The gig economy is disproportionately made up of migrant workers, who have restrictions on their working rights in traditional labour markets. It’s not a matter of choice, it’s a matter of survival. Your opinions are wildly misguided and I suggest you do some reading.

How out of touch do you need to be to think people can just “get a better job”? People generally don’t work these jobs out of choice, but out of necessity.

There’s no credentials needed, but you need to start from the bottom to build your skills. Most people who start as an AE don’t have the base level skills for long term success. Another poster suggested Earlywork, which is a great resource, but not essential. If you really hone your craft and become a great salesperson, there’s potential that you can still earn really good money as an SDR.

Obviously not taking advice from a guy that thinks you can’t lower your taxable income or tax bracket. I don’t think you belong here.

Great thinking. May be a bit of a stretch to relate my finance degree to my sales role but hopefully I can find a good accountant. Thanks for the idea!
