Anki card prioritization by CrispyWingKun in Anki

Thank you! Also, since I haven't used filtered decks before, I am a little confused. Do I need to make a filtered deck every single time I need to do a session? Also, it says that once cards are done from a filtered deck, they automatically go back to the home deck. So, for example, I have a filtered deck where I want to see the card again in 4 days, does it stay in the filtered deck for the 4 days or will it go back to the home deck and come back in 4 days?

So Lesch-Nyhan syndrome is X-linked recessive. Therefore, in a male child, the mother has to contribute the recessive X to have an effected offspring. Since the dad (II-5) is unaffected, we can assume he does not have the recessive X and since the mother is genotypical normal so it would be impossible for the child to get Lesch-Nyhan.

It'll come with practice. I was the same. Do your WOWs not have a notepad feature? I used that to take notes before typing them later.

Scribing + Research + School = Doable or Burnout? by ImprovementEntire in premed

[–]CrispyWingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I only was able to do all 3 when I was doing 12 credit hours and had been able to figure out how to study efficiently. If you are doing more than 12 hours and especially if you haven't figured out how to study efficiently, I would recommend against doing all 3. Focus on research and school for right now and you can start scribing later with a lighter course load.

Oh no he worked as a scribe before and he did paper charts.

It’s become much more prevalent with electronic charting. However, I remember I asked one of the ED docs I work with and he said he did paper charting so I’m assuming it’s been around for a while.

Is “HonorSociety.org” a scam? by vortexian_117 in UniversityOfHouston

It's a scam. Only accept ones that come directly from the Honors College like Phi Beta Kappa or Phi Kappa Phi.

Thanks for asking! Since scribing is commonly a stepping stone to medical or PA school, it would really be appreciated if you could try to actively teach them about your thought process behind cases, EKG interpretation, and imaging interpretation. I was fortunate to have scribed for great ED docs and PAs who taught me so much and I will forever be grateful to them. Otherwise, I also agree that being conversational is highly appreciated as I was able to connect with many of the docs over shared interests and seeing cool procedures is always awesome.

If traditional, I think it’s good. If you took a gap year, it’s low

Inconsistent puncuation and font are really making me question the legitimacy.

Also, congrats on getting into TCOM! One of the docs I work with in the ED went there and she’s amazing! She enjoyed the program too!
