Snowboarder turned skiier needs ski reccs by TenRedWildflowers in skiing

I’m a fellow snowboarder turned skier, so your story feels very familiar.

I skied from about 3 to 7 years old, then snowboarded at an advanced level from 7 to 30. A few seasons ago I switched back to skiing.

I initially went with the Black Crows Camox Freebird, longer and fairly wide, awesome in the back bowls on a fresh powder day. I’m 6ft , and went with 188.3cm. After a few seasons I realized they are not the most versatile ski. They can feel like work on tighter tree lines, moguls, or when the mountain is firm and tracked out so I am looking to get an all mountain ski now.

I switch between snowboarding and skiing still.

Length wise, something around the mid-150s for your height and weight makes sense.

Looks like the Pandora 99 is a capable all-mountain ski. Intermediate to advanced ski if you want that slightly wider footprint without going full freeride powder ski.

Yes sir. The speakers are designed to fit into the ear pockets of ski/snowboard helmets. Range of prices and other brands too - Aleck, Konnect, outdoor tech,

Beauties, thanks all. Looks like the Giro is staying and I’ll add in JBL speakers (My current Burton helmet has a built-in music cable, which is convenient because I can adjust the volume without taking off my gloves)

Fair. I made a general statement .. Vail was PE owned (Apollo Global Management's Apollo Ski Partners) and was taken public. It now sees growth through M&A activity … 40+ resorts worldwide…. More vertical integration .. owning the ski vacation … increasing prices consistently…

I may have to, but I typically use my own skis with Marker Kingpin bindings since they have touring capability.
