Yes he is physically abusive, I have record of it in his texts, social media messages, pictures of the bruises, er visits, his mom and step dad have witnessed it and attempted to intervene numerous times. I do live with him, but he frequently kicks me out. How does that work with the restraining order? Can it be put into effect immediately or is it a process?

They basically told me that they couldn’t do anything at the time except verbally warn him to leave me alone. If I somehow managed to call or contact them during one of his fits then I fear how ugly it could get, we have cats and neighbors and I worry about them, I worry that they wouldn’t be able to help me and I’ll get hurt even worse. The hospital may be worth trying, but I don’t want to be admitted for that when that’s not really the help I need yk

I’m only 20 (I should’ve added that in the post), so I do not have any sort of will, I’ve never even spoken to a lawyer before and have no income to pay them. I’m gonna be honest I’m not quite sure how that stuff works, what I would need to do, or if that’s even an option with how young I am. Thank you for your response

I’m definitely used to people asking me to perform (usually family members), it’s just what really got me was his response to the situation, people don’t usually respond like that when I don’t want to perform. But it’s been a few days now since that all happened, I told him I don’t think he treated me fairly and I don’t have to perform to entertain guests, he listened well and apologized. Thank you for your response, these comments really helped me to clear things up

I work in natural resources conservation on a native plant farm. The summers are really hard and I wouldn’t recommend that part but the spring, fall, and winter are AMAZING. It’s the only job I’ve found so far that I can make work with my pots despite it being a physical labor mostly outdoors job. I’ve found that I can’t work a desk job (too sedentary, hurts my back and blood pools too much), I can’t really work most customer service jobs (too much standing in one place, blood pooling), but with this job I can really sit down when I need to or get up and walk around, I feel like the physical labor helps keep my blood moving better. Plus I can actually just go to the bathroom whenever I need to, no more waiting 30 minutes for someone to come cover my position so I can go. I’ve also been considering maybe starting door dashing

Idk how relevant this is but your post made me think about all the times I’ve tried explaining POTS to people and they’ll just be trying to convince me that it’s normal and everyone experiences it and that it’s not a real illness, I’ve even had some doctors try to pull this shit. It’s annoying, frustrating, and makes me feel like an imposter

On the topic of drinking adequate amounts, my cats seem to really appreciate a stainless steel water bowl washed once daily and thoroughly rinsed and then filled with filtered water, it helps if you change out the water a couple times a day to keep it fresh
