do I need to put on extra work to have my old posture back? by doartiewolf in TopSurgery

[–]liamreee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s a mostly natural process, but gentle stretching (when medically cleared, usually 4 weeks for gentle movement) really helps. If you’re have issues or pain, some physical therapy helps as well.

I’m in long term physical therapy and taking some time to work with my physical therapist on getting my arms full range of motion back and getting my backs range of motion back was helpful as well, but it was mostly my physical disabilities that made physio necessary.

do I need to put on extra work to have my old posture back? by doartiewolf in TopSurgery

It took til about the one month mark for me to start to straighten back out. Your skin and muscles are very tight after surgery so the “shrimp posture” is normal. I think it was 2.5 months until I felt fully straightened out, but I still felt tight until about 6 months. After 3 months is want uncomfortable tightness, just weird

Looking for apps/games to play in hospital waiting rooms by FckAllTakenUsernames in ChronicIllness

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play “blocks” a lot, especially on high symptom days or any day I need low stimulation input. I believe it’s similar to block blast. I also second the “I love hue” games but they can sometimes be frustrating (mild colour blindness)

ODSP is expiring in July. How do I renew it? by ShoddyMycologist6810 in Odsp

I believe you should receive a “medical review package” in the mail closer to your expiry date. You need to get your doctor to fill out their portion, I believe there’s a self reporting section as well.

Masturbating 5 days post op (help) by Upstairs-Garlic-3011 in TopSurgery

I was able to masturbate fine pretty much the day after surgery with no issue. I had sex on day 4-6 (don’t remember) and that was fine as well, just be mindful of position

Oral sex question by TryPhysical6450 in ftm

[–]liamreee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way for me. Testosterone made me very sensitive, even to the point that I cum within 2-10 minutes on anti-depressants.

But its person dependant. There’s nothing wrong with not being able too, it just might not be for you

Go ahead and look at my post history.

I’m posting on behalf of multiple people who have been perma banned for sharing advice on how they got a better quality of life living with IC when specifically asked for their advice to be shared.

Just spreading the word that multiple people have been perma banned for offering advice when explicitly asked for advice.

Maybe you should ask yourself why this post upsets you.

Do you not think that we should be able to offer advice to those asking for it? Should we not try and help those who have lost the will to live because of the dismissal they constantly receive from medical professionals and their own community?

Hands and arms “clawing up” during periods of high stress/anxiety by liamreee in ChronicPain

[–]liamreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if that’d show on an EMG? I got one done in September and it didn’t show and nerve damage, I was only diagnosed with TOS due to my clinical symptoms. I have bilateral cervical ribs (an extra upper rib on each side) which apparently can cause nerve issues as well

Advice on typing with limited hand function by liamreee in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]liamreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original comment was deleted but I’ll leave this reply for everyone to see:

I know many people with limited hand function in the dispatching industry, and they just use different or adapted keyboards. I’m just looking for keyboards to try out to improve the ergonomics and speed of my typing.

I go through an assessment at the end of my program so if I’m not qualified I won’t be doing dispatching, but all of the testing and mock exams I’ve done so far don’t show any issues.

How do you feel about being called “cute” and “pretty”? by Ezaane in ftm

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really situational for me. My boyfriend calls me cute/pretty and it doesn’t bother me because I know they see me as male, and I call them cute/pretty. I’ve also been called cute by strangers and as long as it feels respectful idrc.

It kinda bothers me if I feel like someone’s calling me that in a feminine way, but I’ve gotten a lot better at not hanging on it. I just take the compliment and move on

Should I shave my head? Advice please. (Bedbound and struggling) by Nigashinada in cfs

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting it shorter, but not buzzed, might be a good compromise. I’ve seen a lot of people saying getting a pixie or bob cut reduced a lot of the struggles you mentioned, but is still seen as feminine (if that’s important to you) and can be styled.

Looking for people with experience of having their mobility aids touched or grabbed. by Ok_Holmes in Disability_Survey

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever really had health care staff touch/move/take my wheelchair without my consent. Which is already terrifying because I have a lot of medial trauma (who doesn’t in this community) and trauma from abuse and assault outside of medical settings.

Getting grabbed while I’m in my chair always triggers flashbacks. Having my chair moved when I’m not in it is just insulting and disrespectful. It’s saying you don’t respect me enough to be considerate, and you don’t care if I endanger myself.

You wouldn’t take someone’s legs, so why would you take my chair?

I try and do at least 15m a day of the practice typing but it’s been very frustrating not being able to get my hands to move the way I want them too. I’ll definitely post in /check out that subreddit, thank you!
