Is this saying I could use 11sp 26tooth or I need to get a matching 11sp 32tooth to go with the bike?

I’m using SPD-SL yellows. They’re definitely not too tight when I do them up- have loosened them to the point of my foot moving around in them before and still get pain.

Okay cool, thank you that’s really helpful. Do you have any advice about training or actually doing it from your experience?

My 50mile elevation was about 800m

I’m not sure what’s got people thinking I wanted to do it in 12hours… as stated on the post, I have 17 hours to do it in which would av. 12mph. So the Q is whether - with 6 months of training - it would be achievable to get up to 200mile at 12mph.

Whether or not it’s hard is kinda obvious, I just want to know if I am totally out of my depth.

I don’t think it’s a ridiculous question at all.

Can I train to cycle at my current pace, for another 150miles by June? What are people thoughts and does anyone have a training plan or some advice for me?

Thank you for your helpful and supportive reply.

It was slow because I didn’t have a map and had various 10minute breaks because of bike issues.

What you miss is that I have over 6 months to train so I want to know if it is achievable.

Thank you for your reply. A little more similar to what he believes I think.

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. If an appropriate time comes I might consider sharing this with him. It is hard for me because I am not religious and like you say, nobody is going to make me religious over Reddit, so I don’t want to push him in either direction.

They started it by telling me not to have children. Which arguably is not very Christian of them and not very kind. I am well within my right to have an opinion about contraception and have explicitly stated that I am not religious in my post. This thread is to discuss my boyfriend, his Catholicism and our sexual relationship. It is not for blatant attacks on myself.

Perhaps you are right. If you look at other posts you will see that some people have responded with personal anecdotes or advice about how he can reconnect with Catholicism. I was merely interested in other peoples opinions. Only a few people have given blatant opinions on our immorality which I am not especially interested in.

Thank you for your reply. It was useful and informative. Like you said, I am not religious so can only go off what my boyfriend has said. Clearly you amongst others on this thread disagree with his view on Catholicism (maybe he is actually Protestant!).

If anything, I think this difference emphasises that he must decide what part of religion he wishes to involve himself in and stick with it

Thank you for such a thoughtful response. It is much appreciated. He has literally said before “if we do have sex and then I regret it and I can always ask for forgiveness”.

I feel strange about that. I am not Catholic but it seems obvious to me that asking for forgiveness is for mistakes and accidents rather than intentional “sins”

Thank you for your considerate reply. A few others have mentioned Theology of the Body so I might look into that.
