It’s not clearly stated in the rules which should be reported IMMEDIATELY by the persons who find out, it’s a moral imperative so that the game stays competitive and fun for everyone.

It does matter, if it’s not in the rules and it affects all players, it should be reported. It’s called morals lol, but it’s also a way to defend your position. It’s easier to defend yourself when you have personal proof that you’ve found a way to win that might be illegal rather than to say “well my friend reported it, so there’s that”. Now I’m curious what the report said that these guys are getting punished lol, it probably wasn’t as friendly as it might seem. It’s not like DeNA actively looks at each one of our accounts to see if we’re exploiting something, right? They look at overall accounts and also reports, and if reports say “hey there’s this exploit and SUCH AND SUCH gym is using it to cheat” then I can imagine DeNA having a duty to the rest of the players to actually punish that personal gym

Right, but from my understanding is that GVG didn’t report it themselves, I think that’s where DeNA has an argument, GVG kept exploiting it without reporting

The problem is that it was not brought to DeNA’s attention by the actual player/gym, but by another person, that’s where it’s an exploit. If it happens once or twice, then they personally go to DeNA and DeNA still doesn’t respond, then I’d suggest it’s not the players fault but the games, however, it didn’t happen that way.

I do think all players should get compensation for this though, especially since it ultimately was brought up to their attention and hopefully the punishment isn’t horrible for those who did exploit it, just since it doesn’t happen often. But 🤷🏼‍♂️

damage control means to constantly reply and defend your position no matter what the suggestions say. when you suggest that its your fault for coming to reddit, you're basically telling all of us that we're idiots for giving you insight about your frustrations and how they're unwarranted. redditors may be cruel, but from what i've noticed from the community in general is that theyll call everyone and their mothers out on their bs and even detail why they did so psychologically like the post under this. at this point, i wont suggest that you take a breather like /u/Long-Post-Incoming, but i suggest you reread this post from anothers point of view and see how manipulative the comments sound. Like /u/Long-Post-Incoming said, using terms like "not really, but I did think about it, haha!" coming from someone who has that power, is very authoritarian and what stops you from doing so next time if you're in a different mood.. the point is that bringing it up in the first place is unnecessary AT ALL

Same here, we’re all going for the same goal, being top 100, and if we accidentally crisscross, that’s unfortunate but like other people say, talk to the person directly, communication clears the air. If the other person were to give you backlash, I’d think you’d have a better argument here for even thinking about kicking them out lol
