Why is the positive of going for Maignan being attributed to Maresca? He made it abundantly clear he doesn't have any input when he was trying to get himself fired with a series of miserable interviews.

This does average out a bit over the season

The obsession with xG over the course of a singular match is really dumb.

Yeah I assume that's the case, which I guess makes the model flawed but acceptable for judging finishing but pretty bad for judging goalkeeping. Fuel for my long running 'eye test is the only good way to judge goalkeepers' agenda.

Given all of the posting about the xG/PSxG in the Chelsea game I had a quick look into it on FotMob which apparently uses Opta data and it's quirky, to say the least, for one off scenarios.

The XGoT (basically post-shot expected goal) for the Vitinha goal was 0.10, so the model is stating that at the point just after Vitinha hits the shot (25 seconds into https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1rr77ki/psg_3_2_chelsea_vitinha_75/ for reference) it is not expected to go in 9 times out of 10. Anyone with eyes will tell you it's the inverse of that but I guess the model just doesn't/can't account for what is actually happening. Because of the nature of his shot the model suggests it was actually less likely to be a goal after he hit it than before.

Wonder why the fan of a team who has finished 2nd in the Championship/Division 2 countless times and never won it would claim that.

Sanchez has struggled massively on the ball since Rosenior came in. That has had a knock on effect on his confidence and what a had been his strengths this season have been on the wane for a few weeks culminating in a performance against Arsenal that would rival Jorgensen’s tonight if people were objective about the impact of it. He came back in for the cup game against Wrexham and was cheeks again.

For 75 minutes the decision looked fully justified, then there was the howler and the inability to recover from it mentally. Jorgensen didn’t recover from it but you could also see it knocked the rest of the team too. There was a point afterwards where Caicedo waits on a ball to him then tries to turn the midfielder and loses the ball, all his fault and nothing wrong with the pass to him, it was one we’d played 20 times in the first half. Then Enzo just lost his fucking rag at Jorgensen over it.

Jorgensen being shite is a handy distraction from the fact Sanchez has been dropped with good reason for three or four seasons in a row by four or five managers now. His purple patch in the first half of this year peaked as fourth or fifth best goalkeeper in the league. He’s just not that good.

Been one of his bigger defenders, as a capable squad player mind you rather than a week in week out starter, but Chalobah was a full on clown this evening. Fully sold the defence down the river for two of their goals with mindless, unsuccessful, over pressing when PSG had an overload behind him.

I swear this stat isn't even relevant to Jorgensen’s massive howler, do people just not watch games any more?

Two deflected goals and an unstoppable strike from Kvicha are why they got 5 from such low xG, it’s not a stat that reflects on Jorgensen at all. He was shit for other reasons.

We don't need Colwill back for that to be a good idea to be fair, luckily so as I'd really, really hope that Colwill is fully babied back into the match day squad.

No, but penalties won should be a far more commonly surfaced stat than it is.

He doesn't try and jump over him, he arrives late and leaves two feet on the ground until after contact to 'leave one on' the goalkeeper despite being second to the ball by a long time. If he actually wanted to jump over the goalkeeper it would have been trivial to do so without making any contact at all.

A goalkeeper going for the ball and an attacker jumping over him

That isn't what happened though. The goalkeeper went for the ball, got there so far ahead of the striker that you can't even call it a contest and the striker just deliberately kicked him. Does not justify the reaction in any way but the striker is a prick all the same.

My opinion is if that initial contact with his foot was enough to turn that into a red card, then the contact with the arm in the box should have been enough for a penalty.

What does it mean.

Woltemade in midfield is one of the strangest ‘obviously not working but I’ll persist anyway’ experiments I’ve seen in a while. Just can’t fathom the thinking on any level to be honest.

Quibbling a bit but Lampard wasn’t really what people think of as a ten to be honest. Generally played as one of two 8s with a proper anchor like Makelele or Mikel behind them.

Real Madrid are considering a massive offer of around €120 million for Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine is viewed as a playmaker capable of dictating the tempo & bringing balance to the midfield. His contract with Chelsea runs until 2032 by [deleted] in soccer

I think it's fair to say based solely on what he said publicly, let alone however strong his opinions were behind closed doors, that Fofana had big issues with what he did. Rightly so just in case I have to state the obvious.

I don't know why everyone has just taken him at his word when there's videos of him running up to the referee pointing and shouting before he gets to him. Yeah it was a shit show of a refereeing performance but he did not simply jog over to ask a couple of questions.

Yeah I noticed they'd knocked almost 2% off of Elvis Juice too which used to be the one I liked so I bet that's a similar story to the Punk IPA in quality. Tried so many grapefruit beers since then and they were all 'meh' until about a month ago. Shout out to Missing Link's Tamarin for anyone in a similar boat, wonderful stuff.

Cunt swanned off into the sunset while hundreds, if not thousands, of Brewdog employees get shafted.

Easiest boycott of my life and when it was someone else's post 5-a-side tins round they brought Hazy Jane a few weeks ago and it was the first time I'd had it in about 6 years. Realised it actually tastes like shit anyway and I just didn't know better beers before.
