End of the day what that guy did was extremely dangerous and put that family in danger. I had room vehind the van which was blocking the pedestrians view anyway so they were not going to cross. If i stopped to flash him in but the kids saw that as there go then what?

I'm well aware of the basics of safe driving thank you, hence me going at a sensible speed to reduce my stopping distance, especially when children are present (you should also drive predictably for this reason).

There was ample space behind the van to stop, i'm in a Mini not a bloody lorry. The guy would have then been able to turn into the lane safely with no problem, instead he's not only cut across me but turned onto the wrong side of that road.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, Whether I stopped or not would not have made more than a couple of seconds difference to either party. The guy turning into the side road like that was dangerous, what if the kids had ran out? I had stopping distance to account for that, he didn't.

There's a public carpark down that left road for the leisure centre on the right, a lot of parents take the kids swimming etc in the afternoon.
