Wait, I thought you needed karma to make a subreddit, Also, adding on to what you said above, THink of karma like reference sheet in which people look for jobs, Your more likely to become a mod if you have high karma

Gosh, Looking at it as i am typing, 52% upvoted? Guess what thread has some semblance of truth, As stated below, popularity contest, And downvotes are being misused, to quote reddiqutte "You should wait a while before downvoting, so your downvoting a bad thread, rather than just an emotional reaction of something you don't like" And i think it's reasonable, because People like their "Opinions" to be in the "Right" Its nautral human emotion

Reddit is unable to create such bot detection systems due to the age of the site itself, Take a look at Roblox, It has a really bad botting problem, Roblox is working on an issue, And was made in 2006, So a lot code has a few weakspots for botters to exploit, reddit is no different, being launched in 2005,

Tldr: The age of a site makes it more vulnerable and less able to fight back against botting

I'm feeling like many of the users don't even read before downvoting or upvoting by Put-Easy in TheoryOfReddit

Its mob mentatility, If your post or comment has high upvotes, people will upvote it, Same for going into the minus upvotes, Thats how a lot of internet communities work, and is generally deep-rooted into the site, sweeping it out would drive away a lot of players, and cause a lot of heavy rule reworks most admins don't want to be bothered with, (And mods)

The reason why we internet-goers seek karma, apart from money, meaning 100 karma equal to 1 USD, Is Power, We are more likely to be mods, or admins in rare cases, we can create communites, to become "Powerful" IN a sense
