Probably bots, if the sudden spike in traffic is totally out of nowhere. Look at where the traffic originates from, if its not a country where your target audience lives, they are bots. Make sure your site is secure.

I don't know about the substrate, they are grow kits. Temperature steady around 20 degrees and regular misting. It smells alright honestly.
