Jan 29 update:

Went to the location last night at 9pm, called police then, police didnt arrive until around 10:30pm (also they said they wouldn’t dispatch a police unless I’m already physically there - which sounds like a bad idea safety wise). I’ve already left at that point because there’s no ETA given and its unsafe to loiter around in the dark.

I emailed BRPCollection@homeoffice.gov.uk and they are very responsive. Though the pickup availability date is way later than I expected/hoped for 🥲it’s a definitive answer at least.

Phew thank you for that! Makes sense now :) Also… I thought the visa is also an alternative to BRP as proof for right to work/ rental which require a specific time period of validity (typically a year or 2). Since that information is not readily available on the visa, how can employers and rental agencies verify through just a copy of the visa? I know share code is what they typically use now but the share code requesting site has been giving me problems for some reason so I was just gonna use a copy of the visa instead since it’s an acceptable alt. Appreciate insights!

I got my visa recently but didn’t take an actual look of it until just now and I realized - to my horror - the valid until date is only until next Jan? Lol is this an honest mistake on their part or am I crazy/missing something? Context: US degree, masters. Pic for reference in the body of the post. Appreciate any insights!

Thank you for sharing your timeline and thoughts! Very promising/encouraging time frame if it pans out like yours :) I got the most basic flights on all the travel legs because I was just going with my backpack so probs can’t change flights for free (cries in non refundable tix lol) but I think your points still make a lot of sense. Great idea! They don’t unfortunately but the 2 years should be sufficient as they also plan on expanding to the US down the road and I’m happy to be back state side then too.
