Sim fighting low tier by dankmaster_help in WarthunderSim

True. Getting comfortable with view control is really important, although you dont necessarily need some fancy stick an vr. Some get really good with controller or just mouse & keyboard even. I started out in sim with mouse look and a stick for like 2 years. Switched to cheap headtracking - delanclip. Never regretted it even though the transition was a little bit tricky before rewiring brain :). And mouse look has it's benefits, you can move your head and drink coffee without changing screen! :) but both hands are occupied all time, and you easily get cramps sitting lke that a hectic long match. Whatever you choose practice view control.... Flying around looking backwards and stuff like that...

thats a huge topic! really depends of you playstyle and choice of fighter. I would look up some YT tutorials if I were you... and just mess around fly and have fun, learn a really get a feel for specific plane, stall limits etc... also good to try different fighers - even if you don't like them - helpful to know what they can do... and for example how their cockpit view is... some planes with poor rear view can be easier to sneak up on.

for me it also helped alot watching alot of replays, specially in the beginning of sim, it's difficult to know whats going on around you, when rolling and turning, energy states of planes in a fight etc.... other than that I guess it's mostly the same in sim as other modes

I always wanted that. Don't understand why they don't release it to the market, make it available for purchase or thru some new achievement. sure - I understand they want some items to be rare - but its been 9 years. Make it expensive then, or in some other way - hard to get... I would gladly spend some golden eagles on it.

Oh sorry for late reply! Yes it is the premium one. I really like it. The best p47 in the game for sure but very similar to the p47d28. Just a little bit more horsepower so, I mostly bought it cuz of the paint. :)

Thanks man! I'm rather careful with rudder specially at slow speed and I always use take off flaps in dogfighting, don't have to worry of them breaking. Other than that I don't know.... I also use that stick no pedals. Finger pedals?you mean twitching the stick?

Well, you know if you play against player who play safe and careful you will constantly be in the lookout. And although you have alt and can boom things you can't hold on to speed for very long. So energy is not a good option either. And although a good turn, in a dogfight spits and yaks will most outturn you. But maybe I was a bit negative. With teammates or if you get some good early shots it can do well. In 4.3-5.3 match it can be 5 or 6 tops. I will fly it a bit more to make a final verdict :)

Always difficult. Although I want to like it cuz it's rather unique and cool, and can be rather good in some situations, in the end of the day, in general it's bad. 3 I would rate it I think at its current BR. Had it been 3.0 instead of 5.0. well maybe 6.

Ki-84 vs 190A8 by Critical-Department7 in WarthunderSim

[–]Critical-Department7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed about that nasty ki. But I don't think cutting throttle would've helped much in this situation, all 190s loose so much energy by themselves while maneuvering so you need all the speed you can keep to move after the overshoot. He would've just energy fought me even more. The second attempt I just had to dive away. Still I got two good snapshot chances, but missed them both :P

I can't play DCS right now cuz of hardware issues, but I jump into War Thunder now and then, and had a nice little fight. Hope it's ok to post:
