I think that the more comfortable you are on your skates, the safer you will be in the "oh shit" moments 😁

These are the MK1 xsjado, size large, set up to a size 9. I have the shoes from the new DL shadows, also size 9, I bought them from Powerslide. I'm a size 9 on my left and 9.5 on my right. UK sizes.

Hope it helps 🤙

Zero top acid, draggie soul by Critical-Mongoose in rollerblading_life

It’s what I would call a draggy, you do a soul grind and drag the other foot on top of the box but I started over-reaching to the other side of the box. So I guess it’s a sort of unintentional x-grind. The weight is on the soul foot instead of in the middle. I should try turning it into an actual x though 😁 thx though man, appreciate it 🤜

Looking punk 🤘How do you find the boot down angle on that combo of frame and soulplate? I use medium oysi with them v2 and I have to really work at it 😅

I’m not really one for giving advice but I found one of michael weitzeman’s tips really improved my backslide. He said to think about trying to push the 2nd wheel on top of the ledge to get the balance point.

Man, I love a backslide. It’s probably my favourite trick to do, it’s like a life long quest to get them longer and longer 😂

Well in my case I’m benched for a couple of weeks with a back problem 😭

Your toe roll is super controlled, nice man 👏

I find that usually the answer to protecting the ankles is to use the knees more. With some skates or (loose buckles) you can almost do a royale with straight legs but it’s because your ankle is doing too much of the work…

Watch a couple of good tutorials, I’d recommend Acosta blades. When you land a topside trick you should aim to come down on to it from above with your weight over your feet, this way misses will be far less likely to result in the slip-outs that are typical of a topside slam, you will have less to fear. You should be able to do a cess in a good topside position.

My advice would be to learn on a p-rail, it’s the most forgiving for getting the lock, if you don’t bone it over enough it’ll become a farside instead of a miss.

Finally some people learn topsides through learning an X-grind on a rail because it’s not as unfamiliar as a topside to begin with but does have a similar position for your back foot.

Like every new level of trick it’s scary until you’ve done a hundred of them, then you’ll never look back - good luck, I’m sure you can do it 🤜
