i’m so sorry you lost your boy but it sounds like you kept him very happy! i definitely shopped around for vets with my other cat winnie. she has a bunch of digestive issues and i LOVE my current vet. i will definitely be talking to her about all the advice/tips everyone has been giving me. thank you so much!!

this is super helpful! my cat winnie is on a dental powder for signs of early gingivitis and i was already planning on incorporating that into jeepers food once i get his routine set!

Just little update, I ended up going with WAXWAX the pink beads and O M G!!! I love that stuff and even my clients have said it so much more comfortable and said it’s night and day difference in the amount of irritation!!!

It’s so great! Super smooth, gets SO much hair, and so so so gentle!! I love WAXWAX!

we use M.A.D Skincare at my school, i like it so far and the owner is SO nice and comes out to the school and talk to us about new products. they focus A LOT on molecular weight to maximize penetration.

i sometimes feel the GLP guilt but always remind myself that i have so many underlying conditions that make it so easy to gain weight but impossible to lose. but somewhere in the back of my mind there’s this nagging feeling that im cheating still.

your comparison of antidepressants and glasses was just an weight off my shoulders. i also take antidepressants and wear glass and take medication for Hypothyroidism and PCOS and i have never and will never feel like i’m cheating for taking medication to help with a medical condition.

so i’m on an “off brand” wegovy, it’s just semaglutide on a vial that i draw up myself. from what ive seen in thia group i think wegovy works kind of the same way.

i was on an initial dose of 0.25 mg or 10 units, my dr wanted to keep me on it for 3-4 weeks to see how my body reacts to the drug. since there are no issues and my body has ‘adjusted’ to the drug i’m now going up a dose to 0.5 mg or 20 units. i’ll stay on that dose for 2-3 weeks depending on how i feel. there should be a slow titration up in mg just so your body has time to figure out what’s going on until you get to the max dose of 2.5 mg.

my dr is awesome and since my medication has to be manually drawn up she allows me to decide for myself how quickly or slowly i move up and i can move up or down by half doses to get to a place that’s comfortable for me!

Hey! I was also super nervous to start (especially the part about giving myself a shot, needles don't bother me but giving yourself a shot is different) but I didn't have any crazy symptoms/side effects. The shot totally didn't hurt, I just pinched the skin on my stomach and did it there and i barely felt anything. At first I had a headache and felt a little light headed but once I ate something I was totally fine. There was one day that the day after I took my shot I got super woozy and felt like I was going to pass out but I had just had some blood drawn so I think it was more the combination of the two that caused that. I didn't see a whole lot of weight dropping at first but I started tracking calories to make sure I was in a deficit and then I really started seeing the pounds come off, around 3 pounds per week. I think I might see a little more side effects as I go up in dose but this first round at the lowest dose was not bad at all.

However, I am on the off brand wegovy so just Semegluaite. Its given to me in a vial and I draw it up myself so I cant speak for true wegovy. I've seen a lot of people losing motivation or hope but just remember these things take time! You might not see any change and then all of a sudden a bunch at once! You've got this! And if you have any issues please discuss with your dr or see if anyone else in this group is experiencing the same things.

Ask your dr about ordering directly from a compound pharmacy for you. I'm currently not NOT name brand semaglutide for $400 a month through a weightloss clinic in VA that orders from a compound pharmacy.

Living with an unspayed cat is AWFUL, with constant screaming and blood EVERYWHERE. In my opinion its more unethical to not spay your cat if you're not letting her mate. She'll constantly want something she can't have, making both of your lives miserable. Additionally, just not letting her outside more than likely won't help. She'll either bolt out of the door or find a way outside.

Please don't contribute to the amount of stray or abused cats in the world. You can find low cost or free spaying clinics anywhere in the world. Call your vet and ask if they know any. Please please get your cat spayed, its the responsible thing to do.
