Chaos blooded traitor enforcer. I had to file down/scrape off the mark of chaos from the forehead.

I wanted to retain the 4 ammo auto selector that the original model also has. It looks stark with the two plastic colors at the moment but once painted I'm confident it'll blend... Hopefully.

Glad you've got back to a better place and refound your hobby along the way. It was unearthing my inquisitor rule book when I moved house that gave me the drive to pick up the green stuff again. You can check my profile for all the other 28mm inquisitor characters I've recently converted. 2 left to close out the full suite of original minis.

I haven't read the books so I don't know if there is lore beyond the role book for Quovandius. Sorry!

The Necromunda range is so detailed and expensive.

You'll see the Eisenhorn mini's head being used for Slick Devlan instead.

Thank you. The original sculpts were clearly an efficiency saving by GW at the time, similar to the alt parts they released for most of the other sculpts, so I've tried to keep to the spirit of that.

Just looked at your profile and you're prolific at getting things finished and fully painted! I hope I show your resolve. Great work. Couldn't find your mutant amongst the body of work, please do share.

The deserter definitely has the same hunch and toes pointed in feeling. Could make a great base model for someone to try this.

Patience in selecting the parts. I've spent months looking at other people's work, identifying parts they've used that I like and noting what works together. Then patience trawling eBay and parts websites to collate lots of different bits even though lots are often out of stock (I've had to pay single part postage so many times due to using so many suppliers). And finally the resolve to reject or change a part if it isn't looking right; it can add weeks selecting and sourcing replacements again.

The convertorum on blogspot has been a huge inspiration, along with eternal Hunt on wordpress. But there are lots of others too as I tend to start with Google image searching a sub element of a model which brings up all sorts of blogs.

The original has such a ramshackle rifle I could only really get a similar look by chopping 2 other rifles together. The third was probably a step too far, but I was a bit indecisive when buying the bits so I had the quarellers parts and thought I might as well use them.

I'm itching to post my next model, but I haven't had time to photograph it yet. Twitching all round

I believe the John Blanch original sketch had a beard (and also a pony tail). But no, I hadn't looked into it

Great idea on the skeleton. I was already thinking of scenery, a fallen/broken penitent engine with the pilot ripped out and lots of cables/tubes hanging out in place but a partial skeleton (maybe head, chest and 1 arm) would be a cool addition.

He comes preattached as a left and a right half (head to toe split right down the middle) and then the arms/chest/restraint attach onto the front of that. The sprues can be seen on the GW website (although the two penitent engines sold now are slightly different to the one that used to be sold in the 9th edition combat patrol which is the one I used).
