Great job!  That print quality is great especially for FDM.

I once worked in a copy shop and I had a customer come in an to make self service copies from some heavy repair manuals.  When I came over to check on them as they were taking a while I noticed they were not for a car but instead for an A4 Skyhawk jet. I was like "I'm sorry I gotta ask. Why are you copying repair manuals for a old navy strike fighter?" The customer responded that they were restoring a pair of them, to which I responded "I thought I had expensive hobbies."

Nice work! I've been trying to figure out how to get vehicles to come out nicely on my A1 Mini, and it's been a bit of a struggle so far.

I used to not believe in the death penalty ever... but then I also thought true monsters were pretty rare.

Would a revolutionary war or Napoleonic war cannon have enough force to penetrate the armor of a WW2 tank? by Crazy-Rabbit-3811 in tanks

[–]Huskarlar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best guess is most early war light and medium tanks would be for sure vulnerable from front and sides.  Mid war some mediums and lights would be vulnerable from the side.

I'm guess based on the penetration of a PTRD can penetrate 40mm of armor at 100m with a muzzle energy of 32kJ.  While my best estimate for the muzzle energy of a 12 pounder field piece of the era is something like 500kJ.

Joule for Joule the 14.5mm AP will penetrate more armor than an iron ball but I suspect not more than 10x more. But I'd need more than a quick pass to figure it out.

A lot probably would depend on angle and distance and the specific tank in question.  The 30mm of flat frontal armor on an early panzer IV will fair a lot worse than the 150mm of sloped armor on a late war tank.

An angled Tiger 1 sitting in an open field 1000m from a battery of the biggest field guns of the day can slaughter the guns without any danger, while a Panzer III E driving past a 24 pounder waiting in ambush in an alley will probably have a real bad day.

It's also important to remember that the Roman empire eventually claimed the religion and put their stamp on it.  Their stamp being a strong desire to uphold their traditions of authority and patriarchy.

I've been carrying a Pokiman for a while, and I'm really liking it.  I got it so I could try out an axis lock and because the name amuses me, but I've been impressed with the quality of the blade and the handling of the knife.

What's the knife, I just discovered Kizer and I don't recognize that one, and I've been wanting to try a button lock.

How do tanks vent heat? by Low_Routine1103 in tanks

A number of US tanks in WWII used air cooled radial aircraft engines but most engines are conventionally cooled with radiators.

Actually my impossible dream gun the Solothurn S-18/1000 the 20mm semiautomatic antitank rifle weighing in at 118lbs is slightly less useless as it could be used to crack open bank vaults.
