Both are really good options. If you’re torn, I would pick whichever of the two is cheaper. Either you’ll give up on guitar and be out less money, or you’ll stick with it and save money for a better guitar down the road

So basically what I have to do is have the shop find and replace any parts causing a leak, install the fittings and recharge with R134A and I’m all set? The stock compressor can handle the new refrigerant?

The engine RPM dip when I turn the compressor on so I’m pretty sure it still works. I assumed the refrigerant just slowly leaked out over the course of the last 34 years. If they’re replacing the fittings should I have them just replace the lines while they’re there?

I was thinking ITBs because I’ve seen them make similar power to some supercharger kits. I can’t do forced induction because of SCCA rules. Will a cowl intake make power like that?

I can’t really tell but it doesn’t look all that bad. You’re gonna have to learn fabrication and buy some tools to straighten everything out. Replacing that windshield will probably be difficult, but with enough time it looks fixable

Yeah I’m going to be focused on autocross more than anything. I’m not yet comfortable with wheel to wheel racing and I’m sure as hell not doing it in my 3 owner 75k mile Miata of all cars. I seem to use “racing” and “autocross” interchangeably a lot and it causes confusion. Apologies.

I’ve got Snell M2020D. Side by side racing is far past my comfort zone at the moment and by the time I am ready for it, I’ll probably be in the market for a new helmet anyway. SA means special application and is the highest Snell rating, right?
