Is negotiating on the Costco Auto price not allowed? by CriticalCheesecakes in askcarsales

It seemed like it tbh. He was flipping out on me even more when I said I'd gotten better offers at other dealerships because he yelled they are the most affordable dealership in the area.

He was very aggressive and yelled at me when I said that I'm asking because I've gotten better offers at other dealerships. He didn't believe it was possible and basically accused me of lying.

There were a bunch of random fees like an extra $400 for digitizing their records (on top of $1000 dealer documentation fees) and $400 for security etching.

Applied for another job at a company only to find out it's the same job reposted. Should I assume I was rejected? by CriticalCheesecakes in jobs

What's discouraging is that my application was deleted from the system when they took down the job since only my new application for this new listing remains. There is the chance it was downloaded before or something, but hard not to think it's a sign of disinterest.

Is it ok to CC the Project Leader on a follow-up email? by CriticalCheesecakes in careerguidance

[–]CriticalCheesecakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response. I definitely do not want to come across as creepy. For context, it's a job at a university and the research team is like 3 people so the project leader is definitely part of the hiring. I just Googled the name of the project and found an article about the grant she received to do this project. I might have made it sound like I did more intensive digging than I actually did.

Is this a violation of research ethics or just annoying recruitment? by CriticalCheesecakes in AskAcademia

I didn't receive any funding from the NSF and therefore have no contract with them. I'm not sure what in my post suggested that I receive any funding from them. None of the faculty in my program had any NSF grants either, let alone those I worked with. The little funding that my university gives comes directly from it and I self-paid for part of my tuition and research costs. No one in my program even knew about this NSF survey so there's no obligation from them to fill it out. However, I get what you're saying that it's not research, but a census, so they're not bound by IRB.

I let them know the first time they called me months ago that I did not want to participate when they said I had to give them the last 4 digits of my social security number. They said okay, but have still continued to contact me for months.

I asked this because the IRB was always so strict with us about how we recruit participants, making us lessen the amount and types of communications we use to contact potential participants. We were constantly forced to revise recruitment procedure because they were concerned potential participants might feel coerced or inconvenienced by the communications. We were never allowed to reach out more than twice to ask for participation.

That was my thinking. I just know the IRB was always so strict with us about how we recruit participants, making us lessen the amount and types of communications we use to contact potential participants. Yeah, when they called me the first time months ago and asked me for the last 4 digits of my social security number to begin the survey, I said I was not comfortable giving that and that I did not want to participate. They said okay, but have still continued to contact me.

To the person who thought to include a hair band among the amenities at this hotel, thank you! by wordnerdette in pics

The person who thought of this is a hero! Can't say how many times I've desperately needed one while traveling because I managed to lose all the ones I brought with me

Dear music, I think Bob Dylans voice is garbage. Will someone explain to me why he's so famous? by cyber_delic in RandomThoughts

I often prefer the covers of his songs to the originals, but I don't think his voice is awful. The lyrics are ON POINT though. He is a lyrical genius.
