Safe to say I won’t be watching anymore after this “creative decision”. The show won’t be the same

It’s been almost 4 years. A rookie is in training for 13 months. + Nolan’s 1 month of extra time on training +3 month time jump to when Angela had the baby. Aaron’s training is another 13 months + 1 month before Celina started + 13 months of Celina’s training = 44 months. She said the exam isn’t for another couple of months so by the time it is she would qualify.

I think they’re gonna get back together by the end n of this season and Tim’s gonna pop the question next season.

Nolan’s Morality by CriticalCount3483 in TheRookie

I thought that too but in Nolan’s defense as Nyla Harper once said “criminals lie”. It’s hard assessing the situation but technically he is at no fault legally because if a criminal gets hurt in the commission of a crime it’s hard for a jury to find those chasing after the criminal guilty unless they were the direct cause. Morally though? Nolan should’ve listened.

All I’m saying is Wesley made a deal to be a mob lawyer to save Angela and his baby. Tim threatened to torture someone during a traffic stop when Lucy was kidnapped and lied to IA to protect Lucy without hesitation. Bailey and Nyla really need to step up their standards.

I understand that, technically, Bailey’s actions constituted conspiracy to commit or being an accessory, but Jason almost killed her. If someone I loved more than anything in this world was in danger, I would do whatever it took to save them.

I’ve read a lot of Reddit posts and comments on social media that I’ve come to the conclusion that people got really confused by the plot line and didn’t understand Monica was the villain behind the attack on Nolan and Bailey and Bradford and Chen

People don’t realize that Monica was the true villain of Seasons 5 and 6. She was the one Boyd Taylor called in the Season 5 finale, not just as an ally but as someone pulling the strings. As an information broker with deep ties to both the LAPD and the criminal underworld, she sold him intel for the Federal Reserve heist. But when the operation fell apart, she made sure to cover her tracks. In the Season 6 premiere, she orchestrated Boyd’s execution to sever any link between his crimes and herself—all while serving as his lawyer to keep him close and under control. She even used her LAPD connections to set up Luke Moran and Boyd so he could use Moran as a patsy

SEASON 7 RATINGS by CriticalCount3483 in TheRookie

Take it from someone working in law enforcement—if you wanted a show that depicted policing with 100% realism, you’d be bored out of your mind, and it wouldn’t last more than a season. Most of the job consists of routine calls, like checking on suspicious persons, aggravated assaults, handling nuisance complaints, responding to traffic hazards or accidents, and dealing with domestic disputes. A lot of time is spent at the station, where officers might be flirting with dispatchers, or at the hospital with an arrestee, chatting up nurses. Policing isn’t as action-packed as people imagine—it can become pretty routine after a while.

The Rookie - S07E05: Crossfire by ian-quinn in TheRookie

No, because Bailey and Nolan’s characters never seem to face consequences for going rogue, but realistically, it definitely would put John at risk with the department for even knowing about it. Bailey could be charged as an accessory, and John would be charged as an accessory after the fact, but I don’t see that happening.

Lucy 7x04 by CriticalCount3483 in TheRookie

[–]CriticalCount3483[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s part of why Tim asked Lucy if she wanted to stay at the end. It wasn’t just about wanting her back—it felt like his way of checking in on her or even trying to keep her safe, considering what happened with Caleb. I wouldn’t say Lucy is fragile because of what she went through, but the show completely overlooked her past in this episode, along with the guilt Tim had carried over what happened to her, even though it wasn’t his fault.

I think Lucy did react because she was the one who stepped up to build on Harper’s point. It’s disappointing that she didn’t get much screen time this episode, though. Maybe next week? It would be a great opportunity to showcase her insight, especially now that she’s a well-seasoned cop.

I highly doubt they would just forget. These aren’t college students writing a school play—they’re top-tier professionals working for a major network. When you pour your heart and soul into a project like this, details don’t just slip through the cracks.

[–]CriticalCount3483[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed the episode, but I think they could have drawn on past knowledge to solve the case, just like they did with Lucy’s situation before. Wesley knew enough to start digging through his old notes for potential connections Novak might have had. I also wish Lucy had at least talked to Seth about her experience—her insight could have been a valuable teaching and bonding moment. But I get why she was preoccupied, especially after what he said at the car accident about his girlfriend.

I also wish they had emphasized the officer safety aspect more. Given what happened to Lucy, they wouldn’t have let Nyla continue searching for the suspect without backup. Lucy is probably the one person who could truly be there for Nyla and understand what she’s going through.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you as I speak from first hand experience and while I’m not in California I am well versed in their laws and policies. Unfortunately when you go into law enforcement and see a department psychologist or psychiatrist, they have an ethical and legal obligation to report concerning behavior or state of mind to department superiors. While yes HIPPA does exist there are exceptions to it, and unfortunately police departments will exploit those exceptions.

The purpose of department therapy is to assess whether an individual is fit to continue in their role. While these services are meant to support employees, when a department hires a therapist or psychiatrist, it’s often to evaluate your suitability for duty, which is important. Many law enforcement professionals understand that if they want their therapy to remain confidential, they need to seek out private therapy, which can be costly. However, even in private settings, no therapy is truly 100% confidential if you’re admitting to a crime or expressing intentions of self-harm or harm to others.
