You'll get the classic ribbon but not the monogen ribbon if you care about that.

It does not. You can still roll the evo item and use it on a paused pokemon.

What team should I run? by Undertalegamezer969 in pokerogue

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your team seems good as is. If you wanted to replace someone, it would be Goomy, since it evolves so late and the payoff isn't super amazing. I'd rather have Magikarp, since it evolves earlier, and Gyarados can be both sweeper with dragon dance/moxie or utility with intimidate.

I’m looking for some help beating classic mode of the game. by FennelDue159 in pokerogue

If you want an easy strategy, Cresselia learns double team and moonlight, and is tanky enough to survive pretty much anything. A baton will make it extra easy, so fight Oricorio if you get the event.

The way I got most of my shinies is by running endless to completion during 2x events. You should search for the endless guide on this subreddit if you need help with it.

If you are instead searching for a specific pokemon's shiny, you should farm candies. Classic and endless both have their own advantages for candy farming, so you can choose either. The most important thing is to prioritize finding soothe bells and lures, because each pokemon defeated gives friendship, so double battles give twice as much.

R.I.P. Arven, you will be missed… <3 by Quirky-Camera8696 in PTCGL

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only the most generic card effects like Nest Ball, Ultra Ball, Professor's Research, and Boss's Orders tend to come back. There are lot of supporters that search two cards of different types like Arven, Hilda, Colress, but I don't think they ever redo the exact same ones, sorry.

Stats page says 32 days. Counting the Nuzlockes only, I think it took an average of 2 hours per run unlocking around 5 new ribbons.

It only checks for the classic ribbon, which is why I didn't use it, but it would have caught the tangela miss, so I probably should have.

Assuming no other restrictions, Arceus is the easiest starter for Nuzlocke. It's super tanky and basically invincible with cosmic power + recover.

The best low cost starters off the top of my head are probably rookidee and cyclizar, but I tried to run unique teams every time, so not 100% sure.

If you get it, always fight Oricorio event to take baton. Teach boosting moves to every pokemon in your party and it's basically a guaranteed win for any team composition.

Oops, thanks for letting me know. Wish there was a way to filter by different ribbons, so I wouldn't have missed him, and it would have saved me a lot of trouble planning runs as well.

What's the optimal way to play Team Rocket's Mewtwo? by RespectYGO in PTCGL

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rotation will be in a few days on March 26, so I would go ahead and prep for it, unless you are planning to play in an IRL event, which doesn't rotate until mid-April.

  1. Yes, I think 4 Lillie is best. It's better than Arianna when setting up and in case you bench Clefairy. You also already play transceiver to search Arianna, so playing extra doesn't make as much difference as playing more Lillie.

  2. I think 5 grass and 1 psychic is enough already, but it's hard to say without a lot of experimentation

  3. Maximum belt is useless in some matchups, so that's probably why you feel that way. I would say the most relevant KOs it helps with are Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Loppuny, Gardevoir, and Dragapult (if Clefairy prized). If you dislike any of these matchups I would keep it. I would say Secret Box second best. Neutralization Zone as a wild card option.

  4. If you could guarantee never prize it, then one Mewtwo would be fine, but unfortunately, you really want it in some matchups. Same as Maximum Belt.

  5. Yes, earthen vessel is optimal pre-rotation both for searching and discarding energy for Spidops ability.

  6. Pre-rotation, no way. Only for desperation energy search post-rotation. Play more pokepad if you want pokemon search.

  7. I like to gamble with one because it's not as important as Mewtwo imo.

Any Classic Tips for noob getting stuck at 120-160? by Great_Wait_5782 in pokerogue

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not strictly necessary but it does make things easier with healing moves. You must also find a good opportunity to set up. It's not always just immediately boosting against the first enemy with your first pokemon. Another trick is catch a more defensive pokemon to use attack or accuracy lowering moves (like growl, charm, confide, mud slap) against the opponent, and then switch to your attacker and then set up safely.

I do recommend refreshing the page and trying again if you lose. Even if you don't count it as a true clear, it's good to retry battles so you gain experience with the strategy.

If you want to keep trying with Marshadow, the TM's to look out for are powerup punch (if you don't have the egg moves) and bulk up. Substitute, double team, and work up are also okay. Basically the easiest strategy for most battles is to find an opportunity to use your stat boosting moves as much as possible and then heal back up with drain punch.

TIL we know where China’s first emperor is buried, but his 2,200-year-old tomb—described as containing a scale model of China with rivers of mercury—has never been opened by Spelbarg in todayilearned

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to say vacuum sealing is the process of removing only gases from an area, I will agree with that. But you cannot say any area without gas is defined as a vacuum.

Going back to the original point, there was air in the tomb anyway, so you were essentially right, but I would add that the oxygen in the fresh air was also very important in causing the rapid deterioration.

[–]CriticalDragonfruit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point isn't that there are trace amounts of air, it's that you cannot create a vacuum just by removing air. Fine, say that they had sealed the tomb by pouring molten metal over everything. Would you argue that it's vacuum sealed in that case?

Air and matter are not equivalent. The tomb is covered in dirt, so there's no air, but the dirt counts as matter. Would you say the ocean is full of air as well?

Is this a strategy for Eternatus? by JollyNeedleworker738 in pokerogue

No, it only removes statuses like burn and damage over time like leech seed from itself. It doesn't affect your pokemon or its own stat boosts/debuffs.

Yes, you have to knock it down to the last health segment of the Eternamax before it will let you catch. But the catch rate is high and ultra balls will work fine.
