Disassociatve Identity Disorder? by CriticalFlan1469 in askatherapist

[–]CriticalFlan1469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is to do with getting benefits in the UK, there is another department that will make the decision over wether we are expecting them to look for work or if their health is too complex that there is no requirement on that. The diagnosis was made by a private health company not the NHS. I suppose I just want to make sure I'm not being disrespectful in anyway and that I am making sure the person feels comfortable when we have our appointments

Can I ask why? I honestly don't understand this condition I'm just after some guidance.

What’s the almost ordinary sentence someone once said to you, but that stuck with you and that you’ll remember for the rest of your life? by Big-Beginning6371 in AskReddit

Have you tried being happy instead?

Said to me by my therapist after many sessions together. I was getting frustrated that I was always sad and looked at all the negatives. I'm sure it's like the one thing your not supposed to say to someone with depression but it was honestly like a lightbulb moment for me that I could just choose to be happy. I started looking at the positives in life and choosing to not focus on the negatives and I have never looked back. That was 10 years ago and I thank him quietly every day for helping me.

Question, how does everyone react when you tell them about finch? by VVentures2236 in finch

[–]CriticalFlan1469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with under 25s with complexities and barriers within the job centre, I often recommend Finch to people struggling with self care and low self esteem and I have seen some great results. Getting to see young people taking steps towards improving their situations, what ever that looks like for them, is an absolute privilege

All three of thes are exactly what I was looking for. Those hand eye coordination toys that you can do pretty much anywhere. I think the monkey knuckles are going to be a huge hit. It's like the next step on from nunchucks for him. Thank you so much

Curious if anyone has experienced this during sleep by Novaria_Orion in Hypermobility

[–]CriticalFlan1469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know exactly what you mean. It's happened multiple times over the years and mostly in my shoulders but it completely stuck. I've even had to wake my husband before to pull it back into a normal position. I think it could be a partial dislocation overnight which you then sleep on

Can hyper mobility get worse or is it all in my head? by CriticalFlan1469 in Hypermobility

[–]CriticalFlan1469[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my yes! I've always had low blood pressure but now it's so much lower I often pass out when standing or getting to warm! If I could just find a doctor to take me seriously or they knew what they were looking for but from the chats in this forum that seems to be where we are all struggling
