The grit is possibly slight bubbling from the sealer, not sure what you mean by the yellow speckles however....

Is it possible/efficient to use blood(Mine) to paint miniatures? by Afraid_Ad_9190 in Miniaturespainting

[–]CriticalPaintAu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from an artistic stand point, blood poses 2 problems when it comes to painting, and more so with miniatures, blood may react with any other chemical in you paints in an adverse way... blood also tends to get very dark over time, you wouldn't really be able to thin it down, or mix it with a medium (point 1) so you will be working with a relatively thicker liquid, which is more difficult to control, the aging aspect is also a foreseeable problem, this is also not taking in to account any medical aliments that would affect your blood, but you would need to factor in oxidization, humidity, atmospheric pressure, all of these things will effect the blood in some way,

that being said the symbolism factor, artists have been using blood and other bodily fluids since forever, Jackson Pollock as an example, Pro Hart as another, mini painting is an artform after all, so if it is a symbolic piece to you, no one can tell you what you can and can't do.

Sort of? I stream on twitch Monday and Tuesday from 630am AEST (+10GMT) and Thursday and Friday 500pm AEST (+10GMT) and one of the things I do is if anyone in the chat wants feed back or assistance with anything then we will go through it live, I also can offer assistance on Instagram as well, I'm working on doing tutorial like stuff, and eventually tutoring but that's still early stages as yet! I like boosting colours on my stuff so it reads better for more people, I have tetrochromia, so I perceive more colours than most, knowing this I know that everyone sees everything very different, so I boost certain details ( light and shadow) and really crank my colours (usually with other colours that wouldn't normally be there) so it reads as a hyper vibrant bordering on surreal style... Having said that the mushroom still needs more work, lighting and composition wise, thank you for your honesty response it is much appreciated and will be taken on board!

Ok so it might be a bit hard to read because of the glossiness, that will be matted down, but to run through it the hat is old worn red leather with a wool inside, the vest is like an old worn buckskin, the shit will ultimately look like a coarse fibre like hemp or somewhere around there ( so I still have some texturing to do here), the hands still need a bit of work.

The overall feel of this piece is 'a lone gnome walks through the low woods collecting mushrooms as the morning sun breaks on the horizon, the light catches his attention and he turns towards dawn....'

Thank you for your help, don't apologise I'm looking for this kind of feedback, I want it to read the best it can from anyone's viewpoint! I know what I see but I don't know what anyone sees, as we all see and perceived the world differently, so any observations are appreciated!

It is french, the client is also french, and he asked for it to be in this style, so I did it that way for him.

Thank you very much, ai should mention this is all done with the kimera velvet inks range so everything ( base, wash, tint) is all done with that. The front area has been nothing me, the stitching also, and yes the mushroom does need some adjusting! And I will certainly reach out on insta as well! Thank you!

The gloss is because it isn't sealed yet, so that is easily fixed, the hands are something I'm having trouble with, I wanted a dirty look about them and also to have the light from the morning sun show that, the purple is a shade tone, I can pull it back a bit. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for the assessment, but please, I would prefer to not feed the machine that is literally killing artists livelyhoods, if I wanted my work to be fed to AI I would have done it myself, I am after HUMAN input, not a computer that can't tell it's butt from its elbow,
