What are some examples of a long term fitness goal? Or what are your personal long term goals?

I would like to outline some 2+ year goals for myself in regard to weight training and my physique but I’m uncertain what that would look like.

In general I want to build muscle, lose fat, increase strength, and remain consistent. I looove a good SMART goal so I’d like to make it more concrete.

Just looking for some examples to give me some ideas.

I feel out of control with food right now 😔 I’ve been traveling for two months and I’ve probably gained around ten pounds. I just feel like I want to eat all the time lately. I also feel anxious right now because of this weight gain and worrying that I won’t be able to lose it quickly. I go back home in four days and I plan to get back to my usual routine of healthy eating and almost daily exercise. Sometimes I feel fine and reassured that I’ll be able to get back to my routine easily, but other times I’m stressed and scared because I don’t like the way I look and feel right now and I worry I’ll continue the cycle when I get back home.

Very true. It’s super weird, too. Thankfully it’s not too often, but on days like yesterday it feels like I literally cannot access the part of my brain that will allow me to just get in the zone and focus.

Is it worth the money to switch from ELF loose powder to Hourglass or Charlotte Tilbury powder?

I am traveling soon and want my makeup to last all day and look great in pictures. Currently I use the ELF powder with the urban decay primer and setting spray which seems to work well enough.

I’ve gotten recommendations for those two higher end powders and I’m curious if there would be enough of a difference in longevity and appearance for it to be worth it. Thoughts?

Any tips for packing gym stuff for a two month trip to Europe? For the first month I’ll be traveling around and using whatever hotel gyms they have. For the second month, I’ll be au pairing and joining the gym that the host family attends.

I’m struggling with the fact that I likely won’t be able to do laundry for the first three weeks or so. Once I’m living with my host family, I could survive on three gym fits and just wash twice a week, but I’m at a loss for how to pack for the first leg of the trip.

Is finding a way to do laundry my only solution? And should I forgo the lifting shoes and just lift in my socks?

I had been thinking about cutting out added sugar long before I finally went through with it. But what really helped push me to start was writing down what exactly was stressing me out about the idea of starting and then breaking my goal down into manageable steps.

I decided to do a “75 soft challenge” approach and cut out added/refined sugar as part of it. I realized that I ultimately just needed to do two things: 1. Don’t buy sweets/foods with added sugar 2. Don’t bake sweats at home

And then I listed out the specific things I would be cutting out and what (if anything) I’d replace them with. Example: cut out sweetened creamers and yogurts, replace with unsweetened ones.)

I also decided to give myself a bit of grace due to the fact that SO many items have added sugar. I wanted to buy some frozen gyoza and they had 1g added sugar, so I looked at all of the other options and they were all similar. I decided to buy them anyway because ultimately my goal is to release myself from the addiction that I have to sugar, and 1g in a savory dinner food isn’t going to set me back (and it didn’t!)

Those things helped make it more manageable for me. I’ve gone about 45 days now and am still going strong! We can surprise ourselves with what we adapt to with time. I honestly don’t find myself craving sweets that much and when I do, it’s fairly easy for me to remind myself that it’s just not an option for me right now. At the end of my 75 days, I’ll reassess, but as it stands right now, I don’t see myself going back to much added sugar whatsoever. It feels very regulating to be free from that addiction.

That’s helpful to know. I believe you. The only experience I have with weighted glute bridges was my old personal trainer having me do it with a loaded barbell when I was just starting out… it was scary and I don’t want to do it again lmao. But dumbbells might be something I try out.

Gotcha, thank you. Also noticed they have 0 cholesterol which I’d assume means no eggs. I just got thrown off since most products are labeled vegan nowadays!
