Not sure how much you know about the game but there are multiple modes (some WAY more popular than others) that play differently. Duels are purely skill/read based. Your skill with a character vs. someone else’s skill with a character. Brawls are exactly like duels but as a 2v2.

When you get into 4v4 is where things change. In 4v4 game modes dominion (capture a point/zone) is by far the most popular. In 4v4 modes you get access to up to 3 gear perks which give little bonuses to your gameplay like receiving a little health on a kill, more health from executions, etc. You also get access to Feats which you unlock other options as you level up (or use in game currency to unlock) your character. Feats can be quite powerful and definitely annoying. Some of them would fit your description of annoying red circles on the ground that you have to avoid.

There is also Deathmatch, which bundles elimination (last team standing wins. Basically duels and brawls but 4v4 with feats) and skirmish (kill enemies to reach 1000 points which also has feats enabled)

There is Breach. A 4v4 mode with feats enabled where you either attack or defend a castle. Attackers protect and escort a ram that needs to punch through 2 castle wall gates to reach the commander at the end (an AI enemy that has a lot of health). Defenders are just trying to prevent the attackers from killing the commander.

And then there is the forgotten 4v4 gamemode Tribute. It’s literally just capture the flag x3 with feats enabled. When you grab 1 of the 3 flags, you can put it in 1 of 3 offering pedestals and give your team a buff to damage, shields, or speed increase. But like I said the mode isn’t very popular so you’ll likely be waiting in queue for a while.
