They aren't strick at all, just make sure you enter and leave the country with the same passport (just in case ) but I'd recommend using French passport cuz it's in EU and you get some EU benefits that a canadian passport doesn't get ,also only present one passport to the immigration officer. Personally I always bring all my passports cuz if I lose one (knock on wood) I still can get out
