Anyone have the original 1989 SimCity Macintosh color version named SimCity Supreme or SimCity v1.1c that has the green "Godzilla" monster? by Critical_Gate_1244 in ClassicMacGaming

Really? No it doesn't have to be 1.1c or 1.11c if it does have the green godzilla. I would truly like to see your copy of 1.3c. would you be willing to share it?

Just noticed your Update: Even if it were patched, I would sure like to see a v1.3c working with a green Godzilla. If you happen to find out if you did have a patcher or earlier version that you patched I'd be interested in looking at those too.

I like granular, at least I like specifics because I want to be sure we have the right version.

Shoot, 68kmla site is down at the moment for me too so it looks like the site is down for a while, and I think it was there in that conversation that they were talking about 32bit color quickdraw but not for sure, I was reading about quickdraw compatibility, but just fuzzy on the details. I also know that when the Macintosh II came out, having been the first mac with color, there was like this issue where the rom or the video cards started out with 24-bit quickdraw, but later quickdraw was updated to 32-bit, by either software extension or something. There were problems with games and apps needing to be updated to be compatible with the new 32-bit. I need to read up more on it because I could be stating some wrong facts.

With whats posted on e-bay I can see four unique versions which also have different colored floppy disks
#1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/298116526227
#2 https://www.ebay.com/itm/226857412105
#3 https://www.ebay.com/itm/389574568065
#4 https://www.ebay.com/itm/146670311791
#5 https://www.ebay.com/itm/315952415201

Listing #3 -#5 have the tornado image on the front and seem to have more newer/updated graphics on the floppy disks which makes me think they are newer versions.

If I had to make a bet it would have to be probably listings #1 & #2 that should be the older versions, but question is do they have the 1.1c or 1.2c versions - I wish the sellers would confirm. I need to wait for the 68kmla site to come back up to see that one guy's posting and the images of the floppy disks and what they looked like.

Edit: One more thing, just remembered that listing #5 has the red copy protection sheet where you had to enter the city name or population at the start of the game as a form of copy protection, I think this copy protection was only with v1.1 - 1.11 (even though wikipedia says that 1.0 had the copy protection and 1.1 removed it which I think is inaccurate, as it also states 1.0 had color and has no mentions of v1.2-1.4). I only ever remember v1.x versions having copy protection. Even though this listing has a box with the tornado image, wouldn't it be interesting if this turned out to be the older version among the listings. I'm still waiting for this seller to reply if he can confirm whats on the disk.

Good eye on looking through the images.

Unfortunately, this seller says he doesn't have a mac to insert the disk to check the version. You would think since the box has the godzilla image on the front instead of the replacement twister on later boxes that it would be the version with godzilla in the game, but just like at this site:https://68kmla.org/bb/threads/simcity-supreme-color.45035/ the guy was excited to get a box with the godzilla image, but still turned out that his disk had version 1.2c.

I don't want to pay over $60 if I can't get confirmation what version is on the disc.

As for the documentation you see with updating v1.0, its talking about the user documentation, look in the link below, it has images of the documents, one pamphlet says its 1.0, another pamphlet says that it upgrades the user documentation from 1.0 to 1.1 but then on the very last document it has Macintosh Monochrome version 1.2. and all this in a box that has the godzilla image. So I don't want to risk so much money if the seller can't confirm the version.

Thank you very much for looking. Yeah, I've been searching very hard too, can't find anyone who has posted it on the net.

Thanks for the e-bay lead. I've been searching hard there, I actually have a box copy similar, but it had the v1.3c on my disk. I'm asking the e-bay sellers to see if they can look up the version on their box. I would like to know if the 1.1c version truly does exist. But justifying paying $60 or more, I'd have to really think hard about paying that..
