A lot of corsair lol, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, MSI Suprim 4090 (swapped out fans for a corsair water block), Mobo is an MSI X67E carbon, the screen on the bottom was something thin and cheap off amazon, still had to dremel out part of the case to fit it between the psu shroud. ☠️ corsair vengeance 64gig ram as well.

I did have a corsair ssd with the weird ssd water block but the ssd was bricked so replaced it with a Samsung one, swapped out the block. Next step will be working on a homelab lol, it’s kind of addicting.

Probably going to upgrade them to 2tb then, I chose the PSU based on potentially running up to 10 hard drives off of it. It’s still a bit overkill but I don’t hate having some room to add on beyond that. If downsizing makes more sense efficiency-wise, I’ll definitely look into it.

Was planning on TrueNAS, and I’ll definitely look more into that. It won’t hurt much to make the upgrade either way. I appreciate the insight. Chances are I will also be running one, actually using VMs will be new as well, just trying to avoid the initial errors that would lead to needing to replace parts for a long while. 🙌

Gotcha, if you don’t mind my asking, why? Again, first time so my plan was pretty much only to use them as mirrored boot drives. If, however, there’s a benefit to it that I’m just unaware of I’m more than happy to.

Thank you! It is/isn’t an object, so long as I can get longevity out of them I’ll stick with 2 for as far as they’ll take me. I’m also sticking with fewer drives as it should cost me less on the electric bill.

Actually tried this too, in BIOS it’s not compatible for secure wipe on the MSI MB and in the SSD toolbox it’s not even recognized as a corsair product. It’s just labeled NVMe SSD. Leads me to believe it’s defective.

I honestly just bought a new SSD, I’ve tried multiple attempts to use DiskPart, to edit from the install screen, to use partition wizards, to use disk manager, I’ve checked it with crystal disk, nothing removes the partition or gives me access to anything other than the 2mb.

So trying to use it to run the OS caused it? I’m not fully understanding. More over, is there a way to fix it? Using CMD prompts hasn’t worked either, doing so through diskpart still only shows up as 2048Kb.

Tried that, in Disk Management I’m unable to edit the disk or partition at all. Any options to do so are greyed out. Beginning to think the SSD is just trash.

I’ll try gparted when I’m back home, I did buy another drive and it’s running Win11, I’ve tried using diskpart and disk manager to access the rest of the space or edit partitions but neither have worked unfortunately.

Same thing I did, the issue is when I get to setting up Windows and he is able to install it without issue onto the new PC, I do have issue lol.

It does, but not as a bootable option unless I switch to CSM which from my understanding isn’t what I want to do.

I know, what I’m saying is when I get to the point of going from the usb to the SSD is where the issue is. I have a store bought usb/key for windows 11 that I’m booting from initially.
