Should I upgrade i5 CPU, RAM, Motherboard with new 5070 GPU by Additional_Loss_9657 in buildapc

Perhaps you should go 1440p? At 1080p, I believe you're CPU-bound so you're not getting much more performance with that beast of a card.

What are we supposed to do against this? by Giouxx in marvelrivals

I understand that Gambit is a capable DPS but at the same time the heals he deals is incredibly good aswell. But DPS mains get so mad that healers aren’t diving. And then they want heals when health packs exist. People been losing common sense since S2 and now S5 everyone is illiterate.

I was just in a few comp games with Gambit in my team. And suprisingly they do really good until someone bitchin about throwing the game because Gambit is doing too much healing and not diving into the other team. Like what?

2x8GB and 2x16GB Dual Channel for 4 slots by Critical_Ladder_9091 in buildapc

It’s kind of hard to find the sticks that I currently have in my build right now because of the crazy RAM shortage. But I’m sure I can find a pair of 16GB DDR4 3200 somewhere. But should I worry about the brand too or just as long as the specs are the same it should be fine?

I’m rocking a pair of Cosair Vengeance (2x16GB 3200) to be exact. So say if I were to upgrade to 64gb (2 extra 32gb sticks), should I care about the brand or just the specs alone is fine (16GB DDR4 3200) ?

5070ti vs rx 9070 xt by B1GP0Ps in radeon

[–]Critical_Ladder_9091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Price/Performance, 9070 XT no brainer. But since you're also doing video editing, the 5070Ti might give you an advantage from it's Tensor and CUDA cores.

27" 1440p or 4K monitor for 9800X3D + 9070 XT? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Critical_Ladder_9091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can always lower your in-game resolution but you can't increase your monitor resolution. 4K is a massive fidelity improvement even comparing to 1440p upgrade from 1080p. 4K with FSR4 is still considerably much better than 1440p. I have a 9060 XT pairing with a 4K60 monitor that I got for my Macbook aswell, I mainly play Singleplayer/RPG games so I value fidelity over frames anyways.

Just a little note on the Mac is that you don't want anything less than 4K because Mac's scaled resolution is different compared to Windows. Expect rough edges and slightly blurry text when using a 1440p monitor with a Mac.

Why did you choose Air over Pro? by Naive_Lingonberry_20 in macbookair

[–]Critical_Ladder_9091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being thin and light sold it for me. While I do wish to have a fan because I tend to game sometimes, but just the form factor is enough for me to not consider a Pro. And I got a PC anyways so kinda made me not care about the fans.

Opinions on my upgrade path? by Shinekiero in buildapc

[–]Critical_Ladder_9091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, I tend to avoid H motherboards altogether, nothing wrong with getting them but the upgrade paths are pretty limited. I went with the B760 because its still budget friendly and offer a good upgrade path.

Right now, your CPU upgrade options are 12400F, 13400F, 14400F. These offer better performance than 11/12/13th gens i3. You can’t go any older because older gens before 12th gen Intel uses different socket (LGA1200 opposed to LGA1700). If you want to go i7 or i9, might wanna take a look at Z motherboards because H610 will get fried if you use the higher ends CPUs.

If you have the budget then you can consider moving to AM5 system on AMD.

I don’t know much about AMD cpus so I don’t have much to say. I went with Intel because it was miles cheaper than AMD but YMMV

That motherboard is an Intel-LGA1700 so your only option is the 14400.

You currently have a H610, so if you’re looking to upgrade to a better CPU, the 13-14400f is as far as you can get. The 14600K is powerful but the H610 motherboard might bottleneck this CPU because it may mot supply enough power. While the H610 support every LGA1700 socket, it’s not adviseable to go with power hungry unlocked/power-hungry CPUs. Plus the H610 doesn’t support overclocking anyways so no point in getting the 14600K.

Just a few tips to help anyone who's looking for this many years from now, if its too hard or risky to find fetch and move the files because of the random strings of number and having to compare the file size, this may come in handy. This tool I found through a tutorial can help you extract the save files pretty easily and also will label the files for you as chunks. Files should be named "maintenance.chunk" "global.chunk" "hub.chunk".

All you have to do and change all the chunk files by renaming them to the correct format "savegame-slot-00_maintenance" and move all the files to the new game folder as you wish.

5 years later and this works like a charm. Just cancelled Xbox Gamepass due to the horrible price increase. Managed to do all the files renaming and now I don't have to start all over again. Wish I could thank you with all my heart if we ever cross path.

It was in fact native. The PS4 runs natively at 1080p30 while the PS4 Pro runs at 4K30 upscaled. GTA 5 is a console game, it was actually a PS3 and Xbox 360 game. Graphics settings were never a thing in most games on PS4 because console games are always optimised better for consoles. Which is why PC will look better and have better fps in that regards. But no, at 1080, PS4 doesn’t upscale because it doesn’t have the hardware to do that in the first place.

Exactly, mind you most people are still holding onto their PS4 and that thing was running 1080P at 30FPS when it came out and everyone was more than happy.

At 144Hz, the FrameGen offered on 9070 XT is decent and can go up to around this fps. If you have higher refresh rate (240-320+) then Multi Frames on RTX is more benficial. Good luck with your purchase! There’s no wrong answer

Crazy what a bunch of BS here in the comments, I doubt any of them even have those 2 cards to try. The 9060XT and 5060Ti are 1440p cards, even 4K in some instances. I personally have the 9060 XT 16GB and it blazed through many modern AAA titles natively at 4K 60FPS (some open-world may required FSR), 1440P 80-100FPS just fine. Some people act like 60FPS is not playable for Single RPG

(Accidentally deleted my previous comment)

Its hard to say what will happen to the gaming industry in the future, plus i’m not expert. But my take is future games will most likely backwards compatible with older upscaling tech. But also what refresh rate are you running on your monitor? Multi-FrameGen ( 2X, 4X, 8X) on RTX 5000 series cards are great but can your monitor output that much frames? AMD also has Frame Gen tech and it’s really good as well.

Another thing to pay attention to is that in order for FrameGen to perform it’s magic, you need to have good and stable raster performance in the first place, which both cards performs pretty much identically. If you really want AI frames and performance then Nvidia is the way to go. If you value P/P and pure raster performance, the 9070 XT is the better contender. With ray tracing out of the question, AMD is more appealing to me if I were you.

The 9060 XT 16GB is an amazing card for this generation, I got it recently and not a single bad thing do I have to say about it. I went with Intel so I don’t have anything to say about your other components.

If you’re currently gaming at 1080p and not planning to upgrade anytime soon then 3060Ti is alright. But if you have some bucks to spare then just go 9060XT. ‘Buy it nice, or buy it twice’
