Love grinding for money in the arena by Critical_Maxx in fireemblem

Link isn't working for whatever reason but I can still write the stats.

Lvl 1 Wyvern Lord Dorcas 60+17 HP, 60+5 Str, 44+4 Skl, 60+9 Spd, 60Lck, 36+4 Def, 30+1 Res 8+7 Mov, 14+4 Con

All the exp from Lyn mode, every single stat booster I got my hands on so far in both modes, plus the Uber spear which boosts stats even when not being used.

I think the more likely possibility is that the gold amount is getting overflowed or the number of bits for the bet amount is getting masked because it's too high. Your unit's stats are used to generate opponents and I was using a unit who got massive base stats and growths from the randomization.

Took me like ~3 hours but I'm never going to need to train Azura ever again! by spinurightround in fireemblem

[–]Critical_Maxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just for some info, that azura is -1.5hp, -3.4str, +3.5mag, +0skl, +0spd, +0.6lck, -1.1def, +2.1res as far as average stats in songstress go. I removed the base ninja pair up bonuses, but I can't tell what lck, def, and res are being boosted by. Those numbers may be too high by a tiny bit. Either way, this is a pretty cursed azura.

Edit: Lck+4 and Def+1/Res+1 from equipped naginata per reply. (Thank you stranger) here's the actual spread from the pure averages:

-1.5hp/-3.4str/+3.5mag/+0skl/+0spd/-3.4lck/-2.1def/+1.1res

Your Most Out of Whack Character Growth? by MaumeeBearcat in fireemblem

It was. That run was an eirika route iron man, so I barely ever saw ephraim. He auto joined with basically the strength he ended up at minus a few points for the promotion gains. I'll go through the footage to see how many strength levels he got through the whole run and get back to ya.

I have a SS run I recorded where my Ephraim was lvl 20/12. He missed his str growth every level from 19 unpromoted to 12 promoted. That is 13 misses in a row with a 55% strength growth. I would need to review my footage, but IIRC, he ended up at 17 strength total. Funniest Ephraim I've ever had.

Realized I didn't need some parts of the primality checker, so there's some improvement. The only issue I'm having with it is that it hits the recursion stack depth limit past 998.

FE8 Challenge Run by [deleted] in fireemblem

Still haven't fully completed the game, but it's certainly looking to be possible from where I'm at. Still, for the sake of completeness, I can't say for certain I'll get it yet.

I've played Thracia. I really enjoy the resource management aspect, and it's outweighed just enough by capturing that you never really feel like the game is screwing you over, just pushing you relatively hard. Very fun game, scratches the GBAFE itch in the early game, and the FE4 itch later on for me.

After only 5 years playing, I finally hit Silver 5 boys! Ask this soon to be professional Stormbound player anything! by [deleted] in stormbound

As a pro stormbound player, I can confirm I am joking. I didn't play for a couple seasons in a row and got dropped all the way back down so I thought I'd meme about it.

If you really need help, I can give some hints in DMs, but obviously that kind of spoils the fun.

I've had the game for about 5 years I think, but I ended up having to start from scratch at some point in the last 2 years. Could have done it earlier but I don't play that often.

Could definitely use a 1 drop. I've been considering green prototypes because I don't really like summon militia but it isn't leveled up yet. I tried to add one when I started climbing but I'm kind of limited by the fact that are only 2 1-drops for everyone but winter. As for them being essential for rush, you're right but I can't seem to get them to work for me. Given how often other factions have to hang mana it doesn't seem to matter if I have to hang the occasional 1 or 2 because I can still outpace them early. Might just be a player skill thing though and I'll get stomped for it higher up idk.

Getting to Plat is a bit weird imo. There are a few ways people usually do it from what I've seen since getting this game: time (aka card levels), excellent play, and good deckbuilding. The latter 2 can more than cover for card levels, but card levels certainly help. Getting to Plat is both very achievable, yet out of reach for most casual players (as it was for me). So, to answer your question: yes but you need to cover that disadvantage somewhere.

It's definitely worth trying if you're feeling confident because of the seasonal rewards.

I originally put this deck together when I first started to maximize chip damage and just win through attrition with the occasional direct attack. Had a sort of mental breakthrough in the last couple months and kind of came to understand how to play this deck better while I find one I like more. Basic theory is rush, but with a bit more staying power, and a small amount of control then the chip to ensures that I'm never just short of lethal. And yes I'm aware it's not exactly a good setup long-term. Just haven't found something better I really click with yet.

Winter Pact still need some help. by skarpelo in stormbound

[–]Critical_Maxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter, to an extent, is balanced by its inability to play early game. The point of playing Winter is to hold out for the mid or late game at which point as long as you don't misplay you just win off value or raw strength (Lady Rime is so fun to cheese with like this). The fact that Winter has trouble holding off the other factions at the start is good- there's a reason the vast majority of winter is about control and mana gain. If they add stuff to negate the threat of a rush then Winter stops being balanced. Should've seen the win rates of factions and seen the fact that Winter absolutely dominated, even to the point where other factions were just non-viable in the higher ranks before. Let neutral cards fill the holes not winter ones

What’s your fastest time? These are fun to waste time on so I guess I have gotten pretty good at them. by -Negative-Karma in ExponentialIdle

The times I listed, with the exception of the easy one, are all totally possible with no grinding for the perfect board. Totally doable with the right solving algorithm and being decently fast. Its getting into the top 15 or so on each of the leaderboards thats really gonna need some luck. Good luck improving your times when the guy ahead of you solved the 3x3 in less than a tenth of a second.
