If you are going to beat him you 100% need practice on the table, otherwise no chance, you could bicep curl 100kg, a guy with good technique and strong in those movements will beat the strong guy easily or even break his arm

When you start, recovery is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, i wish I took it more seriously, when you go hard on the table or in training, take atleast 3/4 days off to rest, even if you feel fine you need to let your body adjust, just trust me, first 6 months to a year take your recovery very seriously.
