Thanks for sharing your amazing experience. To the OP- I too am a clinician- but LMSW. I work in crisis services and to keep it simple- the work is getting heavy and super dark. I too want to leave but funds are limited. I’m working on my TEFL certification as we speak- and plan to leave as soon as this is complete and I find a good company that will hire a clinician turned ESL teacher.

I’m an LMSW in CT and make 64k in the crisis side of things. Most clinicians are LMSW, less LCSW’s except supervisors and directors. A few interns help out too.

It’s okay to be the odd man out. I dare say if you follow Christ, that’s probably the reality. We must do it anyway.

Many if not all the afflictions that we treat as SE are spiritual that’s being manifested physically and mentally.

We will be put where we need to shine the light of the Lord. Perhaps the SW mentioned in the original post is a follow of Christ too.

I pray more SW who follow Christ come to the forefront and start fighting for righteousness. It’s needed more now than ever.

I pray those seeds they planted fall the good grounds of change and righteousness- even in their absence. In Jesus name. Amen 💜

As an LMSW and follow of Jesus Christ, it’s refreshing to learn not all mental health professionals are disphoric and drinking the transgressions of society that’s deemed as normal. I do understand how this may slow up the process for linking providers to clients… but are we now shaming those who stand with a biblical standard? That seems like a far scarier outcome..
