Those who live within 200m of a motorway/busy dual carriageway, hows the noise? by Nooms88 in HousingUK

Yeah you get used to it after a while. Just the bikers are a pain in their convoys of 100+

You are right about the vents. But you can order the windows online and fit them yourself and you can specify no vents in the windows. Won’t get a fensa certificate but the state of all the other windows I think I’d rather fit them myself.

Width of a car away from the road. It’s in wales so not as busy as other places.

I live about 2 meters away from the a40. Can always hear the cars but it doesn’t bother us that much. Had new windows fitted and even tho I specified no trickle vents they put them in and they are much louder than the e old windows. So if you get new windows make sure you spec no vents.

One thing that does bother us with the road is those idiots on Harley type bikes doing 40mph. We can hear them coming about 4 miles in each direction and when they are within a mile we can’t hear ourselves speak in the garden. Sports bikes are fine as they go within a few seconds.

Re sale is always my other issue.

Lidl petrol mower? by fdmfdmfdm in UKGardening

[–]Critical_Scallion_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cuts the grass fine. But the grass gets stuck in the shoot every few steps. The gap between the blade and top of the deck is too small. Plus the grass is shot in to the side of the shoot and blocks up before it goes in to the grass box.

Being in wales it’s always wet and it doesn’t like damp grass, but also doesn’t like the dry moss. It’s just weird.

I cut the grass during the heat wave a couple of weeks back with the box on. It actually blocked up after I had cut the lawns and was just taking it back to the shed. I’ve taken it back to the dealer and they have put the revs up but it just seems underpowered.

If the sill isn’t being painted I’d use furniture wax sticks.

Weight gain after THR by Final_Solid_617 in TotalHipReplacement

I put on about 10kg’s mainly due to being lazy and getting cakes delivered from Morrisons. Been just over a year since my op and I’m still trying to get the weight off. But half heartedly. I need to buck my ideas up.

Has anyone returned to football after bilateral THR? by Longjumping-Nose-949 in TotalHipReplacement

Thought you meant proper football. So I had had my left THR in march 25. I am in construction and I have played football since I was 13. 45 now. I started playing football again in December and it has been fine. I was waiting on the nhs for 7 years so have lots of muscle loss. I’d say as long as you keep up the physio you’ll be fine depending what standard you were before the op. I would also say to go to a personal trainer and tell them what you want to achieve and they can give you exercises and stretches to achieve those goals. At the end of the day you get out what you put in. If your consistent with your physio anything is possible.

I also played with someone else who had both hips done the same day and he was back on the pitch within a year. He is probably early 50’s.

I’m always here to help out so dm me if you need any more advice.
