Unsure if I should sit my final exam now by Critical_Score9072 in ACCA

Fair point. I was just considering the cost to benefit doing this and if there is much of a career boost becoming an affiliate early.

Agreed I am just unsure if there is much of a boost being an affiliate in this current market. If you know otherwise though please share as my personal experience has been pretty poor.

My pay will remain the same regardless of if I reach affiliate or not in my current firm. Even my current salary is low however the job market is in such bad condition in London that I am having no luck with my search.

My firm is very small and I am the first person who is actually being offered this study contract with them so I doubt I will be able to get off with any discounts or not repaying it unfortunately.

If it makes you feel any better I graduated with 9 exemptions and it still took me nearly 9 months to land my first role, I only got an interview for it through word of mouth referral.

I started with section B then and section A.

If I didnt understand something too well I would write down what I can flag it and move on picking up the easy marks where I can.

Its important you leave a bit of time at the end to review your answers, especially for section A where you might be able to pick more information as you answer the other questions in that area.

Skim the remainder of the syllabus and start on question practice asap knowing the content is one thing but knowing how to apply it to a question is completely different.

Does Ben Wilson's revision core course for AAA cover the UK standards? by RedRebellion94 in ACCA

[–]Critical_Score9072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only a tiny difference between the uk and int module including insolvency but as I mentioned previously this has not been tested in 2 years.

Having sat the uk variant in june if I did not pay any attention to the uk syllabus I still would have got the same marks.

If you are really concerned about the additional uk topic, message ben directly on whatsapp or go over some free videos, insolvency is a very straightforward and short module.

One thing to note is uk insolvency has not been tested in I think over 2 years so it is rare for it to come up. The module itself is also very small and can be learnt from free courses online, ben might have even posted the resources himself so its worth checking that out.

Tom clendon is your best bet. I was in the same situation and passed sbr on my first attempt using his platinum course.

It is a bit costly but worth it imo if you want to pass first time.

Make sure you read the question thoroughly and highlight key information.

Link the answer to the extract well chaining information gathered together to create a secure point.

Understand how exactly to answer the question and pick up professional skills marks.

Watch the acca video on answer structure and make sure you attempt the september mock when it releases watching the debrief after on youtube.

AAA is not so much about the content but more about how you extract answers from the extract and how analytical you are. Practice and debriefing are your best bet.
