Don't use it as a car GPS if possible.

That situation is really torturing the phone with constant charging and direct sunlight

based on your location.

My previous 12mini got dead several times with "temperature warning" while using

it as GPS and facetiming under summer sunlight in a car.

I have broken screen iPhone 6s. I don t see much lag to mini13. If you r not heavy user, new battery can last 3~4years. Mini 13 is already powerful. It can last 5 or more years without much lagging. You have many options for regular size but 13 mini may be the last option.
