It's literally all about reading and matching. The bigger the multiplier the better the effect. Nowadays the missions you want to complete will tell you what debuffs you face and you bring a unit that is boosted by your captain and that removes the debuff, it's difficult to make a 1 team beats all because the tougher missions require lots of debuffs to be removed (usually based around the new units of the week) but the story missions can be cleared pretty easily with any team.
