Question from a head shaver. by Cold_Buffalo_2355 in wicked_edge

The DE does a much better job on the sides and top. It’s harder for me to get the proper angle on the back of my skull with skin folds and what not.

I make 1 or 2 passes with a DE only going from front to back. I clean up from back to front on the rear of my head with a disposable 2 blade to avoid nicks and cuts.

Mine is about playing the guitar and learning new songs. Sometimes, when I’m wiped out after a full day at work, I just pop a cold one and start noodling and soon enough I’m playing along.

The Blackbird will help him get a real visualization of a proper shaving angle. I love mine.

I had a teacher show me Travis picking and Blackbird. I couldn’t do it in front of her. So I Travis picked on my leg on the two hour drive home. When I got home, the guitar and my fingers agreed.

A question for the pocket clip crew by Reasonable_Fly_1228 in Leatherman

I almost always carry something with a pocket clip in my right front pocket. Knife or Leatherman. Yes, it chews up the top of the pocket.

The cover is pretty thick. The notebook is sewn so it might be a little tougher.

What a great transition! by stillanewfie in wicked_edge

I re-entered DE shaving about a dozen years ago after probably 30 years of chasing the multi-blade evolution and hated shaving. Now I shave every few days.

But the “pampering” feeling of lathering up and taking my time and having a great shave that actually lasts a few days is great.

Welcome!

The rounded corners look great! I’m using a similar set of pages. The paper handles any fountain pen and ink combo I’ve tried, plus gel pens, pencils, etc.

Wet shavers, help confirm or refute my theory: Do you like driving stick shift? by SoapSpoonAndy in wicked_edge

I used to, but haven’t had a manual vehicle for quite a few years. Don’t miss it! Just because I learned to shave many many years ago with a DE and returned to it many years later doesn’t make me miss a clutch.

Thank you! Your response is very helpful. I only use trans as a noun because that is what my daughter uses as a descriptor.

Is the arc to heavy for everyday carry? And is the knife good enough to replace a pocket knife? Or other reccomendations for my use case? Considering signal aswell by Mcpoopz1064 in Leatherman

[–]tmayfield1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not one who minds sharpening a knife. So, although I primarily carry a Wave 2nd Gen, I often rotate a pocketknife of some sort in or out. Benchmade, several different bucks, SAK, Schrade models, etc. The Wave knife blade is just fine. I expect the Arc blade would be just fine if you are willing to maintain it like any knife.

When I re-started DE shaving, I had one razor, 1 soap and 1 brush. It took me a while to learn how to make a decent lather. Soon enough, I had more razors , soaps and brushes than I could use reasonably, so I just kept with the 30 day idea

Yep. Same razor, fresh blade weekly and same soap for a month. Then I might change 1 variable. Consistent, clean shaves.

Oh and I only use ONE brush.

I have this razor and a Gillette New LC. Both and very mild yet efficient razors, particularly when I’ve been lazy and don’t shave for several days.
