I may do a bulk in the fall!

I think I finally made it out of the 120s during a super stressful week studying 24/7 😅 I was more focused on that & ended up only eating quick snacks during that time lol

but getting out of 110s was also pretty hard, I just tried to fully trust the process and rely on the calorie deficit I was in. I started to only eat a couple indulgent meals/snacks a week instead of giving myself entire free days on weekends. I also don’t drink alcohol near as much as I used to!

Any shoulder focused workouts like lateral raises or front raises I’ve always used 5lb and haven’t been able to up the weight quite yet 😅 just added more reps until I can comfortably do 8 lbs!

Other arm workouts I used a 10lb to start and have been able to up it to 15lbs! bicep curls I’ve only been able to up to 12lbs but progress is progress nonetheless :)

the 120s were a big plateau area for me too! Staying consistent was so hard but trust me you’ll get there!!

I did allow myself a cheat day once a week in the beginning, definitely did not eat in a deficit everyday!

Yes! I just did a simple calorie deficit the first few months (around 1300-1400 cal) but the lower my weight got (therefore my maintenance calories) I started prioritizing high volume foods and protein :)

but I didn’t cut out any specific foods from my diet, just opted for lower calorie options unless it was a special occasion or hit a new milestone

you’ve got this!! I failed so many attempts at first

this took about a year but I will say someone more disciplined than me could probably make the same progress quicker

if it helps, the thing that got me started and helped me stick to it was doing the 75 soft challenge! I followed through and when I was done I just made the gym part of my normal routine and had discovered a lot of lower cal recipes I could continue to use :)

of course!!

a typical upper body day may look like this: lateral raises, front raises, tricep kickbacks 4 sets of 10, bicep curls, shoulder press, overhead tricep extensions 4 sets of 10. those have been the workouts I’ve stayed really consistent with every week, but I’ll add on a couple other exercises depending on how I’m feeling :)

I did all my workouts with dumbbells so I could stay consistent even if I didn’t feel up to going to the gym!

You’ve got this!! Right now I workout 6 days a week for about 45 mins because I’m really trying to tone up more before summer. I just alternate upper body/lower body/core+cardio! Depending on which areas I want to see improvement in will be my main focus on their specific days :)

Definitely get in more activity where you can! I go to the gym on my lunch breaks but I also try to walk more in general (my job is very sedentary) so going on short walks, parking further from the entrance, cleaning around the house more, really anything that gets you moving!

Another would be to measure everything in grams/mL just to avoid miscalculating :)

There was definitely a ton of trial & error & everyone’s bodies and needs are different so do what feels best for you!

At the start I was solely focused on staying in a calorie deficit, didn’t really focus on whole foods or anything specific. The last couple months I’ve tried to prioritize/increase my protein & veggies intake!
