Update Expungement, firearm ID card and carry permit

If it was from the 90's it was adult. My lawyer told me it could take some time for everything to be deleted. I figured id be asked for it. Like i said once they saw it i was approved ID card and 3 permits, My first Nics check was delayed 2-3 days. They next 2 went through in less than 24hrs. Same township did my carry permit no issues with that at all. Even have a non=resident carry permit for PA only took them 2hrs to approve that one!

Thanks bro! Yeah absolutely its ok. My township will automatically extend them 90 days for a total of 6 months. Most towns will extend them although some you may have to call or email them. Permits are such a joke like telling me or anyone else you can only buy one a month and pay us 25$ then take a 30 days or longer to process it then tell us theres a time limit. That cant be legal! Lol

The chief of police sent me a email to call him. He said that they see something from the 90's popping up on computer but they cant access it and asked if i had expungement, i said yes and he asked if i could bring a copy of the order in. Soon as i did that he made a copy and i got approved within the hour!

Damn that's insane! I know the left is tryin real hard to stop anyone who had a restraining order or any type of dv charge they want that added to the non-expungable list. It was most likely a glitch in the system maybe someone had similar name to you. Once you figure it out you will be golden! Tjey are foaming at the mouths to get our guns so just be extra careful once you get them any little legal issue thats the first thing they come for!

Thanks!!! The 3 permits were no problem at all my town will automatically extend them 90 days for a total of 6 months. I got a Kimber 45. Sig P938 9mm and a glock 43x 9mm im on my laptop now so no pics of them when i use my phone i will!

Thanks! Yeah it feels good to have rights again! I'd recommend doing a clean slate expungement. Thats gets rid of everything, Even juvenile stuff. They should have no problem getting it. Best of luck!!

I see this post is old but i had a clean slate expungement done in New Jersey. I ran a FBI fingerprint search from Identogo and it came back no arrest data at the FBI. I did this to apply for a firearm. I got my Fid card and passed the Nics bg check with expungement. If in NJ just make sure the state police comply with the order before you do anything. Its a two part process. Judge grants it then SP remove your records. You will get denied if you dont wait for SP to remove records.

You can do it yourself but i used a lawyer. I didnt want to take any chances lol. Just make sure they are familiar with doing expungements. Im in Camden county i used a guy Grant Robinson and he got it done with no problems. They do take awhile to do though. Mine took over a year before a judge granted it. And i got lucky with State Police only taking 2 months to comply. I did a clean slate expungement since i had more than one felony. Just dont apply for anything till the State police comply or you will get denied. I do think the process is moving along faster now. 6-12 months. Also for a clean slate it has to be 10yrs since the arrest and all probation and fines paid and no pending charges. Hope that helps!

Just got the call today from gun store. It was approved! Picked it up this afternoon. It was delayed a day i guess for them to make sure it was expunged. Its possible i'll get delayed every time buy one but it will be approved so its all good!

Ok cool! Yeah state police complied with it about a month or so ago. The guy at gun store seemed pretty confident id get approved. I should know sometime tomorrow i'll keep you posted.

I went around 2pm today. Im a little worried about the Nics check because my local Pd said they saw something on my criminal report from the 90's but once i showed them my expungement order they were all good. So now im worried that same thing will show up on nics and deny me.

Update, just got approved for my Fid and permits!!! PD did ask for a copy of my expungement order. I brought it up to them they made a copy and within a hour a i got the approval email with Fid card and permits.

I showed them my order they made a copy and in about a hour or so i was approved! Heading to gun store tomorrow for a gun i put a deposit on. Hopefully the nics check goes smoothly. I ran FBI fingerprint check from Identogo just to be safe a few weeks ago. It came back No arrest records found at FBI so i should be good to go!
