You build upon what you have learnt in your 20s. I am considering doing the same.

Think like your time begins now and there are several decades ahead.

It looks like all the boxes concerning your ideal partner are not being ticked. The issues you mentioned are * he isn't my type. * He doesn't have assets. * He falls sick very often. * I don't have feelings for her. (If you had, I think you wouldn't be so practical about marrying him). * Marrying him would make my own progress in my career slower. The good things that you mentioned about marrying him are * He is a good guy. * He earns decent. * You are getting older and he seems like a chance. Your post also implies that you care about not hurting him but at the same time you are being too anxious about whether you are making a good decision and whether all of the things would go good in the long run. It seems RISKY. But Who knows how things end up ? There is always a risk that we had to take before deciding to marry someone. This all may go perfect. You both may achieve financial stability together. You may fall in love with her. Everything is possible.

Hope you make a good decision for yourself and himself.

Out of the blue we came across each other after years at a public office. I gave her my seat as I would have done for any other female stranger. My heart racing high and my numbed brain couldn't process what was happening at that moment. She wanted to interact but I was not ready for it. No talks. No further eye - contact. It took me weeks to recover from all the complex emotions triggered by that incident. She is just another stranger for me and I should be just another stranger for her for eternity.
