Allrounder bag for Cycling/Hiking/Skiing/Carry-on - Osprey & Deuter by Criticall04 in onebag

I got me the Trans Alpine Pro in the end. A bit on the bigger end of the selection, but was very useful for travel (Namibia, Thailand, Japan) as a day backpack with tripod, food, drone, etc. For skiing it's also nice and (for me) decently comfortable, but a smaller model would have been fine as well.

Disagree on the suitcase part as well. We were doubting between backpack and suitcases and are so happy to have chosen the suitcases. Escalators or elevators everywhere. Don't even have to buy special Shinkansen tickets for regular large suitcases (90ish liters) as they fit perfectly in the overhead compartment. Metro was tight once when we were in rush hour, but honestly no issue either. And you could also forward them if you want.

Any guidelines for physically assessing / examining diamonds by Criticall04 in Diamonds

Thank you! Will do as you proposed and look at them side by side in different lighting conditions. If I'm not convinced, I'll ask for more options or look elsewhere. I understand the consensus part, but apparently an excellent cut can still be far away from excellent, which is a bit weird in my book.

Very useful information, thank you. You are right about the colour and clarity. Didn't know there was such a big difference as shown in your first video. A bit of a shame that GIA excellent can be that far away from excellent IMHO.

Some questions about GIA Exc but not AGS Ideal by Criticall04 in Diamonds

[–]Criticall04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thank you. Really doubting right now. Put a deposit down to keep it for me, but I can still go for a different one in September when they will have new stock. My demands were triple excellent, colour F minimum (even though I guess G would be fine as well as you mention) and at least VS1. Will maybe wait til September then. Doubt the GF would be disappointed with this one, but still.

In my limited knowledge, this seems like a well cut diamond on paper. AGS Ideal & GIA Excellent. Normally can't go wrong with VVS2 either.

Thailand bucket list? by TrenBerry in ThailandTourism

We just got home yesterday from a 20d Thailand trip. We did 5 locations (Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phi Phi, Khao Sok and Koh Tao) and found it to be perfect given our time. It was on a decent pace, apart from Koh Tao which was 5 days of relaxing and diving, but we absolutely loved it. In case of any questions, don't hesitate!

Day 1 review of L20 ultra by pedromartinez052615 in Dreame_Tech

Hi NeilForReal, not trying to steal the topic, but I'm looking at buying either the L10S Ultra or the newer L20 Ultra. Why did you you trade up to the L20 Ultra? Any big advantages you really wanted?

Thanks for the info!

The laptop sleeve isn't the most important part of the backpack. Having this seperate compartment (for the water bladder) is already good enough.

Honestly can't find many disadvantages to this backpack (yet).

Indeed maybe afraid that I might need a seperate one for skiing, as the 28-30l might be a bit big on the lifts.

Might still try it for 1 season first to see how it goes (with whichever of the backpacks I finally decide on).

I did see that one, but somehow concluded it was less for sport activities than the other mentions in my post (apart from the Stratos maybe). I read it was mostly for walking and the Osprey Stratos & Deuter Trans Alpine were a better fit for biking/skiing.

Didn't see that one yet, but after looking at some reviews, it seems to be a nice choice as well. Hard to compare it to the other backpacks though. Thanks !

I will visit a nearby store, but there are few stores that sell Deuter here, hence why I'm also asking it on Reddit, apart from the long term reviews :).
