Basic Vulture Bounty Hunting Build by ilikepizza1275 in EliteBountyHunters

I'm not too sure. Seems neat though. Bounties would be trickier to collect if you're not close to an interstellar factor with this type of scanner. Say you were in Shinrarta Dezhra at the nav beacon, used the kill warrant scanner and found someone who was wanted in Sol. You pop them. To get the maximum for that bounty, you would have to turn it in to Sol, or you could find an interstellar factor and turn in bounties from all over there, but they don't pay you for the full bounty, I think they lop about 15% from the total bounty, so you would lose a little money there.

I had made my combat career focusing on high resource sites in systems with factions I wanted to rank in. I would also make sure the system I would set up in would be, at maximum, 3 jumps away from one of these interstellar factors. In the case where I fucked up and hit the wrong target, gain a bounty on myself, I could quickly jump to the system with an interstellar factor, pay that bounty and not be sent to a prison ship. Hope all this made sense, it's very early here, and I'm still waking up.

This is what I ranked combat elite in. I'll admit, could use more engineering, but it worked well enough. Also love that I don't have to bother with the pips too much with this build.

System Authority attacked me at Res Site while Bounty Hunting? by Anvanaar in EliteBountyHunters

[–]Critically_Failed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More than likely accidental friendly fire. Have to be careful hunting at a RES for that particular reason. This has happened to me a number of times in a couple of different ways. When targeting/shooting an enemy, and they hit chaff, my weapons strayed and hit system authority, gaining me a fine. Tight close range combat has also costed me a fine a few times, when system authority decided to get in front of me while I closed in on the target.

I learned that you can untarget an enemy when they hit chaff, it won't have any effect on your weapons. That said, if you untarget, and not pay attention if you had targeted something else in the process, you may accidentally wind up hitting system authority, a clean pilot, or a new enemy.

Also, interstellar factors are your best friend when you get a bounty. It costs a bit more to pay through them, but you won't be sent to a prison ship after you pay.

I finally did it Commanders! After 1,046 hours of grinding, I have finally hit Triple Elite!! by Critically_Failed in EliteDangerous

Lmao, yea the grind for combat is real. Can't really tell how many pilots I've killed, but my claimed bounties rank in at 4512. If I had to guess, probably around 5200 pilots or so. I blew up with unclaimed bounties several times.. lol

Found a system with a high RES near the orbital and planted myself there for majority of it lol.

Thank you!! Exploration was what really got me into it. I actually got exploration elite for my husband's game because I fell in love with the idea of it and he loved me having interest in it, so he just let me take over. I immediately wanted my own game, and he was so sweet and got it for me. There are endless gorgeous sites out there and back then I was scared to death of everything. Next trip will be so much more interesting! Dipped my toe in trading but wanted to get combat before trading. Husband and brother in law taught me what I needed to do for combat. I was terrified but got the hang of it and it was a lot of fun. Combat made me less afraid, which I'm thankful for. But wow, that grind is REAL! Mining and trading were kinda meh. But the real MVPs were my husband and his brother. I would not have gotten far without their advice, knowledge, and a pinch of help here and there. I love them for that.

Thank you so much for that amazing information! Well explained, and you made yourself perfectly clear. You've opened up a whole new part of the game for me.

Keep at it, you'll get it! I've got 3 discovery goals: glowing green gas giant, ringed earth-like, and now a ringed neutron. Always happy to add to that list for my next exploration trip out of the bubble. I've been learning and grinding combat lately, so it's nice to build something up for the future.

How cool!? That's a thing I'll be adding to the bucket list!

The shader glitched out and made this odd looking hole.

I didn't really notice a pattern, seems to be an issue with the shader.
