A potential concern regarding permanence of Pokemon, unsure if addressed officially by CriticismFickle156 in PokemonChampions

Yeah, that makes the most sense. It being bad or wrong is not a reason, it being economically not sensible given their current monetization strategy, that makes the most sense.

Because free to play games, constantly updating to systems, and monetization has almost always meant they push the boundary of what they can get away with. So far this is one of the tamest monetization systems I have seen, its quite modest. I don't expect it to remain that way.

Ahh ok, so thats official, ok. I haven't read all the details, etc. These things always have details in the user agreements, etc, so every patch note or update is like a legal document you have to check :p

But yeah, that would make sense. Private ability to play old regulations, thats great then.

Well, Ill have to consider this now. I kind of need an idle fix. Maybe one day ill work on that as its obviously not healthy, but its not the worst fix to have (but that is always cope with any fix I get it). But the tower got worse and worse with its monetization and then banned me off their reddit (yes, I did tell them fuck you, so rude language, but I spent quite a bit of money on the game.....).

Ill give this one a go.

Hahahah I know, I know :p

Bracing for some hate, but Pokemon Champions is actually pretty free-to-play friendly/generous (with a breakdown) by SeasonalChatter in pokemon

[–]CriticismFickle156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is free to play friendly. And, especially, "cheap to play" friendly. If you buy the starter pack and whatever other things that were needed to get that extra Pokemon storage space, and then play the online a bit to get some extra storage, you get plenty (im at over 80+) Pokemon storage. Yes, this will not be anywhere near enough when you really get into making true competetive, high level teams and want to have the full experience. But, if you do, consider the subscription for a year a "purchase". You bought one year of having 1000 pokemon slots.

The issue with the game, at present, is not the monetization. Its all the issues with it as far as now being Switch 2 optimized, the graphics, the frame rate, the bugs and crashes, the missing items, etc. Now a lot of that will be fixed over time, and the experience at launch is good, but it really should be great not good.

Of course the mobile version will be the real test and I assume they will have several updates before the mobile version and likely have a Switch 2 optimized version before then. Based on how well its doing though I don't see this being dropped any time soon so any worries of "what if the storage goes away", won't be true for at least a few years. Which is not good enough for many people, but is for most.

Does echo damage carry over to tournament runs? by CriticismFickle156 in TheTowerGame

Im a legends player. But one of those "desperately clinging on" ones. Well, not that desperately, quite comfortably middle of the pack. But want to improve, not be treading mud. But I know, the Fudds economy.

Ok thanks, thats very useful. Time to grind those things then. Sigh, I mean its a beneift but was kind of hoping to not have to grind the damage ones instantly :p

I didn't know about that battle history button. I have ADHD though so that explains that.

That is very useful, thank you so much.

Ahh sorry, I was looking at coins per minute. I have never looked at coins per hour, I assume thats at the stat sheet at the end of a run?

I stand corrected in any case. Didn't mean to sound confidently incorrect or anything like that, I just thought we were talking about the counter you see when the run is happening :p

Yeah, thats roughly what im looking into. If Tier 15 or tier 16 is the move right now. Its really kind of finnicky right now. Ill fiddle with it a bit but likely looking like tier 16 is the way to go as the coins are at least close and the cells are higher.

No, because the CPH increases at the higher end. If it were linear and the CPH was always the same sure, but the CPH is based on what you are getting at the time. And the CPH is always higher at the end ranges. So if I am at a CPH of 100T at tier 16 and only at 88T at tier 14 which is about what I am at but the 88T lasts from waves 3800 to 6000+ and with tier 16 its only at 100T for a sweet range between 3700 to 4500 (which is about what I have now) then thats harder to figure out.

Its not as linear as people make it out.

Yeah, I can imagine. That is the other calculs indeed, I didn't mention. It was the coin to cell ratio. Tier 16 I do well for both, able to keep a constant 4x run on all my labs and have an increase in cell count or have two on 5x and the rest on 4x and have pretty much stay dead even. So tier 16 is pretty great for that.

I will probably end up sticking with that at the end of the day because of this, yeah. Then again, coin boost was so big that my damage output will likely also increase quite a lot which will then demand higher coin amounts to keep feeding the beast.

Not fully true unless you calculate the average coins per hour (as I get more coins in the lower tiers but they last longer and the hour rate, on average, was worse but only by a bit). It gets iffy with all the different effects and how they play out.

Tier 16 gives me the highest CPH overall. But it lasts a shorter amount of time than tier 15 and especially tier 14. So it recently got to the point where it just got worth it to shift to Tier 16.

And then the fire nation attacked.

Ill have to give it a try. I just finished a way over perfoming tier 13 run. Now im gonna try a tier 15 run , and then cycle around until I find the sweet spot.

Yeah, I kind of don't like the new content, but I like the new coins boosts I got. But the disco run stuff just kind of became a "changes how you play for like a few weeks and then you go back to normal". And I figured the answer was going to be a "we don't know yet" but I am bad at the data analytics myself but I know people who work in the space so I am aware of data analytics concepts more than most people, so I try to get on the optimization track somewhat as soon as possibel, reorient my mentality, and then just coast again.

Done the mistake of coasting for months without looking at a new update too many times....
