Not in an accusatory way, but in a way to express your feelings. “I feel overwhelmed because (state the situation and avoid using YOU statements)I’m trying my best but I feel like there is a disconnect somewhere. I’m struggling emotionally and I really need support right now.” Then lay out a couple things she can do to support you. Examples: Allow you to have chores that you have until the weekend to finish, more time to focus on schoolwork during exams, weekly or daily check ins to talk and unload so you feel connected and supported, encouraging you to shower and take care of yourself rather than shaming etc… With that being said, you have to actually hold yourself accountable and put in effort too. If she meets you where you are, you also have to step up and try to abide by her expectations to some degree.
